The 40GB 2.5” drive inside the SimpleDrive Deluxe has a good shock rating, but it is protected by a clumsy plastic case. At 1 lb. and about the size of 4 decks of cards, the drive alone is easy to carry around. However, if you plan to bring all the accompanying cables with you, the pouch, which comes with the drive, will come in handy. The rear of the SimpleDeluxe 30GB contains a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port and two FireWire port as well as an AC plug hole. If this drive will travel with your laptop, the PS/2 pass-through cable can power the drive from the laptop’s battery.
