Explosive Labs has completed a roundup on the Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and Shuttle SiS 648 motherboards.
In the mainstream chipset industry, SiS is the only company to have a license from Intel to produce Intel compatible solutions. The fact that VIA has alienated Intel by continually producing Intel compatible chipsets without a license has lead manufacturers tending to avoid VIA for their Intel platforms, because they don't want to deal with the legal shenanigans, no less upset their relationship with Intel. Recently, the release of VIA's P4X400 and the SiS 648 marks the first Intel compatible chipsets that supplies 8X AGP and unofficial DDR400 support.
