Hardware-One has posted a review on the SMC 8-Port 10/100 Storage Server.
The 8-port 10/100 Mbps dual-speed switch Barricade Storage Server provides simultaneous broadband connectivity for up to 253 computers via a single WAN/IP address. A built-in firewall and content filtering features provide enhanced Internet security against hackers and unauthorized users. The platform independent Barricade Storage Server supports Mac and PC environments. Users are also given an additional 20 GB of hard drive storage within the LAN. This helps to free up disk space on client systems and provides a ready-made file server(streaming movies anyone?). Other networking features include a built-in router, a print server and NAT firewall security. There is even an integrated RS232 port, which provides dial-up capability via an external 56K modem should your Cable or DSL connection go down.
