PC Review have launched a Startup File Database containing a very handy list of all the processes that start when Windows loads up.

This section is intended for advanced users to troubleshoot the processes which load when your computer first starts up. You can look up items from running "msconfig" and find out what each of these files actually means and if it is recommended to be allowed to run. Many applications are not needed and can slow your PC down significantly.

You can find out which items you have running on startup by running "msconfig" from Start > Run and then clicking the Startup tab. Each of the items with a tick next to it is loading each time Windows starts. To find out more about each application, browse the alphabetical list below or type the filename into the search box.
