Although Part I of this series discussed the movement on both AMD and Intel’s part towards dual channel memory solutions, there’s actually a small piece missing from the puzzle. There was one company still focusing on single-channel solutions and promising it could deliver equally competitive products at lower price-points. Had VIA failed to deliver, it’d be nothing but another promise made by another company that sounded good and failed to materialize. In this case, however, VIA did deliver what the company said it could—and no one noticed.
