Voodoo 4 4500 v. Nvidia MX performance comparison

Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 10/02/2000 01:25 PM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

ViaHardware has posted a Voodoo 4 4500 v. Nvidia MX performance comparison.

To our sites fault, in our V4 4500 review, we tested the Nvidia MX video card with the Detonator 2 5.22 drivers. I honestly donīt know why I did not test the MX with the latest Detonator 3 drivers. The Detonator 3 drivers offer significant performance increases for the MX, especially in higher resolutions and 32 bit color.

I received hundreds of e-mails to update my review with the latest drivers for both cards. I decided instead of doing an updated Voodoo 4 review, to just do a straight performance comparison of the two cards. This shootout will just show a performance comparison, and will not get deep into the features of each card. The features were covered fairly extensively in our Voodoo 4 4500 review and our InnoMX/Hercules MX reviews.
