TecCentral has posted an article in german: Windows 2000 good for doing HyperThreading?
in fact, Windows 2000 Professional supports two CPUs and therefore should do well with Intel's HyperThreading. But Intel is only talking about Windows XP. Thats surprising! When the first Intel Xeon with HyperThreading-Support was announced, there only was Windows 2000 (Server). So Windows 2000 supports HyperThreading, but how fast is this old operating system compared to the official HyperTreading-Supporting Windows XP? Is there a noticeable performance-difference between Single- or Multi-Threaded applications? Maybe the following article is interesting for your readers using Windows 2000 Pro.
