October 25, 2001 was a big day for PC users across the nation. The next installment of Windows was finally released. I think many were excited and hopeful for the delivery of a promise that was given a few years back.

I recall the day my friend upgraded from OS/2 WARP 3.0 to Windows 95. It was such a jump in what a computer would do! And would sing the praises of the OS and how much better it would run his hardware than OS/2. But where were the applications? Well some ran and some did not and he was ok with that.
