Edifier CineSound B3 Soundbar Review

The Edifier CineSound B3 soundbar is designed to sit under (or above) your TV and deliver noticeably improved audio playback – when compared to your TV’s inbuilt speakers. However, it also offers Bluetooth functionality, allowing you to connect a phone, tablet or what-have-you and use it for general music playback, too. Priced at £149.99 in the UK, it sits in the mid-range – above budget offerings but not quite at the same level as enthusiast-grade options.

Fan config: Does it matter? Testing push vs pull vs push/pull

When I built my first PC a few years back, I used the excellent Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to cool the processor. However, I remember feeling very confused about how I should mount the fan to the heatsink – some people said ‘just stick it on any way’, while some online pundits were certain that I HAD to use two fans in a push/pull configuration or else my PC would burst into flames at any moment.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Graphics Card Roundup

While we're starting off with just four boards, this roundup will continue to grow as more GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards arrive at our lab in Germany. Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1080 is the company's gaming flagship right now (check out our Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Graphics Card Roundup for in-depth analysis of the top models). But its GeForce GTX 1070 is undoubtedly a better value play. After all, the GP104-powered card outperforms the old GeForce GTX 980 Ti for hundreds of dollars less.
There's a lot of variation out there, though. You'll find 1070s selling anywhere from under $400 to over $500, and it's amazing to see what Nvidia's add-in board partners have done with this platform. To help you size up the current field, our team continues testing GeForce GTX 1070 cards. For now, we have four different models to compare. And we go deep. Really, each page of this piece could be its own complete review. We focus on the manufacturing quality and technical features of each card, along with power consumption, clock rates, cooling, and acoustics.

Taiwanese motherboard makers optimistic about AMD Ryzen

So have been "aggressive about placing orders," for components. Information pertaining to AMD Ryzen has raised plenty of hopes among PC enthusiasts. The initial official unveiling provided enough information for people to get their teeth into and believe in a return to the glory days of AMD CPUs. More recently AMD released some easy to digest bite-sized videos, highlighting all the positive reasons you might be interested in a new AMD processor. Then yesterday we saw a brief first review, with benchmarks, of a Ryzen engineering sample processor.

Windows 10 game mode settings uncovered in insider update

DLL is thought to adjust the system hardware resource allocation logic for games. It looks like a 'Game Mode' is coming to Windows 10 in an update in the not-too-distant future. Evidence pointing to this dedicated Windows gaming mode comes from a Twitter user called Walking Cat, who has pawed over the 14997 build of Windows 10 on the prowl for interesting changes. The Walking Cat (AKA @h0x0d) discovered a new OS library file called 'gamemode.dll'.
