iXBT Labs posted a review on the Gigabyte GTX260/275, HD 5870 Graphics Cards

"The 5870 CF tandem puts up good performance. As we can see, it sometimes outperforms GTX 295 Quad SLI. Considering all innovations, including DX11, we can say that it's the most powerful duo with the most 3D features these days."

Reviews: Leadtek PxVC1100 MPEG-2/H.264 Transcoding Card Review

Legit Reviews posted a review on the Leadtek PxVC1100 MPEG-2/H.264 Transcoding Card

"The WinFast PxVC1100 is an MPEG-2/H.264 transcoding card developed by Leadtek and features the Toshiba high-performance stream processor SpursEngine. The WinFast PxVC1100 has four Synergistic Processing Element (SPE) cores based on the "Cell Broadband Engine”. Read on to see how this single slot PCI-Express based low profile card does on our Intel Core i7 system!

Compared to even the latest CPU and Graphics hardware, the Spurs Engine held its own. Though testing different encoding/transcoding types and programs can be quite a headache, it’s easy to see that the Leadtek WinFast PxVC1100 is an MPEG-2/H.264 transcoding card can benefit those who do large amounts of this type of work. While there are only a couple of different formats to be used, they process very quickly and have outstanding quality. I have seen a lot of questions about taking SD quality video and converting to an HD format and most are answered with “don’t waste your time because it will be the same quality.” Well with the Spurs Engine, that answer can be thrown out. While taking SD quality video and reaching the quality of an original HD source would be impossible, the content was very clearly much higher quality than the source. Best of all was that this process was quick, encoding at about 20% faster than real time playback..."

Reviews: Xigmatek Midgard-W Computer Case Review

Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the Xigmatek Midgard-W Computer Case

"Xigmatek - A name that needs no introduction, But the first things that come to mind are CPU coolers, Right? A relatively young company, founded in 2005, Xigmatek has made some great quality coolers, 2 of which featured and performed very well in the Q2 best CPU cooler performance review here at Benchmark Reviews, Today's review focuses on the Xigmatek Midgard CPC-T55DB-U02 Computer Case, Big on features and while not an overly expensive case it is still closer to the top end of what I would call a Budget case. Tool free design, Midgard-W was designed by gaming and cooling thinking within tool-free hard drives and add-on card installation, easy installation CPU cooler back plate window, four pipe holes for water cooling system and seven cooling fan space at most. This case is certainly beautiful to look at, but looks are for the vain, Features and quality are essential to the success of a product. Will you be using this case in your next build? Come and take a closer look to see if this is the case ticks all the boxes for You."

Reviews: Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme Review
2009-11-12 12:11:22 Source: Email [ Print | 0 Comment(s) ]

PureOverclock posted a review of the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme CPU cooler.

"Much has changed since the days when the Tuniq Tower 120 reigned supreme. Top air cooling manufacturers have refined their designs and incorporated Heatpipe Direct Touch technology that has proven to be very successful in its performance abilities. In many ways, Tuniq has had to play catch-up since their heyday, and in their pursuit of recapturing the air cooling crown, they've released the "Extreme" version of their legendary cooler. Question is: did they succeed?"

Reviews: CoolerMaster Storm Sniper Black Edition Review

OCC has published a review on the CoolerMaster Storm Sniper Black Edition

"Well, after what seemed like a long review, we're finally at the conclusion. What a case we have here today! CoolerMaster not only took the performance crown, but even took my breath away with awesome features like an all-black interior, full tool-less drive and expansion installation and three 200mm fans. What is not to like about this case? It even fits a whole Thor's Hammer heatsink and 'push-pull' fans without having to remove the top 200mm fan. It even sports some other nice features that are now being included on most new cases, like the ability to remove a heatsink without the trouble of removing the motherboard, which is something else I like to see."

Lets see if this notebook cooler will impress us or will be like many of the notebook coolers we have looked at in the past"

Reviews: XClio Godspeed One Advanced Mid Tower Case Review
2009-11-12 12:01:18 Source: Email [ Print | 0 Comment(s) ]

TweakTown posted a review on the XClio Godspeed One Advanced Mid Tower Case

"This time around XClio sent me a chassis with the budget builder in mind. Keeping a few tricks from its much larger brother, the chassis I’m about to show isn’t a completely stripped out shell. I have seen quite a few sub $50 chassis’ that aren’t much more than four walls, a roof and a floor. Sometimes they have fans, sometimes they have a window, and when you get really lucky, you can even get some LED lighting. This chassis from XClio isn’t just budget, it houses all three of those things and still leaves you a bit of change for drinks after the build.

Today we are looking at the Godspeed One Advanced from XClio, one of four chassis’ in the Godspeed lineup. Two of those are more basic builds and concepts, while the Advanced chassis keeps a few tricks of the more expensive chassis, and still can be had at a reasonable price."

Reviews: InWin Maelstrom Case Review
2009-11-12 11:46:41 Source: Email [ Print | 0 Comment(s) ]

DreamWare Computers posted a review on the InWin Maelstrom Case

"The products from InWin have always caught my eye for the simple reason that they don't particularly follow the same design trends that many other manufacturers follow. They've made some cases that are really edgy and military/space themed and some others that are tailored specifically for the ladies out there. Although the ideas may be taking a bit of a dive, the cases have always had outstanding looks and a fine attention to detail. The same goes with many of their other peripherals; like a hard drive enclosure based around native Chinese design principals. Although the ideas seem "out there", a look at these products on the store shelf will probably find you going back for a second glance. When the opportunity arose to check out InWin's latest Maelstrom full ATX case, of course I couldn't resist."
