Reviews: Small Wonder: Zotac's HD-ND01 Nettop Review

HotHardware.com posted a review on Zotac's HD-ND01 Nettop
"The market for nettops-small, highly-integrated, mini-ITX desktops, typically based around Intel's Atom-didn't explode off the block the way netbooks did in the past 18 months, but an increasing number of manufacturers from Acer to Dell have released new designs built around the standard, and the systems in question are steadily becoming more powerful. Zotac is no stranger to the mini-ITX market, but the company's line of mini-PCs aims to provide more than just a motherboard. Zotac now has two complete systems on the market-the HD-NS01 (Atom 270, 1GB RAM) and the HD-ND01 (Atom 330, 2GB RAM). We'll be evaluating the latter system today, with an eye towards the features and capabilities Zotac has packed into its MAG (Mini All-in-one Giant)..."

Bona Fide Reviews posted a review on the i-Tech SIMDrive
"The product I've got today is called the i-Tech SIMDrive and it looks like a small USB flash but it has a slot on it for your sim card to be inserted into. On the drive itself is software to allows you to access, edit, backup and even export your contacts from the sim card. You do all this from your computer so it makes the whole process much easier. It's inexpensive, and in my opinion well worth it to be able to easily access and backup your contacts. "

XSReviews has reviewed the NZXT Panzerbox
"Our second NZXT offering in less than a week comes in the form of the Panzerbox. Aimed much more specifically at the higher end of the enthusiast and gaming market, the Panzerbox utilises a unique layout and a crafted aluminium chassis.
The Panzerbox also shares the first part of its name with a German Tank -- the Panzer from WWII. It also claims to share many of the qualities of its name sake such as a strong exterior, and, to some extent, the shape. Let's get a little better acquainted with the design."

With the ASUS Xonar HDAV 1.3 Slim HDMI audio card you can get true Blu-ray bitstreaming with sample rates of up to 192/96kHz. Read on to what we think of this sound card!"

TweakTown posted a review on the A-DATA Xtreme PC3-16000 4GB Dual-Channel Memory Kit
"What we're seeing from PC3-16000 kits these days is a huge range that caters for all budgets. There are some low latency kits that set you back a pretty penny, while there's also some other kits that carry with them more relaxed timings and a much more comfortable price point for many people.
We're not too sure where the Xtreme series from A-DATA sits, but that's exactly what we intend to find out today. On our next page we'll have a look at the package before having a closer look at the modules themselves. After that we'll have a look at the specifications, how we went with getting the default clocks and also see if we had any luck overclocking before we get stuck into the benchmarking and wrap it all up."

InsideHW.com has reviewed SAPPHIRE Vapor-X HD5750 graphics card
"This time, in our test lab arrived Sapphire HD 5750 graphics card with custom cooling system already seen on several Vapor-X models. This cooling system is based on Vapor Chamber Technology that, basically, functions similar to heat pipe cooling systems. It consists of one “large” chamber with coolant liquid that evaporates when heated by, in this case, GPU, which is in direct contact with bottom chamber surface. The rest of the cooling system is consisted of slim metal fins and one fan. This solution is much better solution than referent ATI solution used on referent models. Vapor-X on Sapphire HD 5750 was almost silent during all our tests and never got over 55 degrees Celsius, which is great result. In closed enclosures, this temperature can go up to 65 degrees Celsius, but even that is great result…"

Reviews: AMD Phenom II 965 X4 Black Edition C3 Processor Review
2009-12-07 12:29:41 Source: Email [ Print | 0 Comment(s) ]
OCIA.net has posted their review of the AMD Phenom II 965 X4 Black Edition C3 Processor
"Although AMD has had some exciting new mid- and entry-level chips come to market in the last several months, their top of the line Phenom II series has not seen much action since the beginning of the year. But since we won't see AMD's new six-core desktop Thuban processor emerge until next year, what we have to feed off of in the meantime is a new Phenom II core revision, the C3. Beginning with the highest-clocked chip, the 965 BE, the new core will begin to filter down through the rest of the lineup through next year. Enhancements to the core are expected to lower voltage requirements and thus reduce operating temperature, which can potentially lead to better, more stable overclocks. Is it worth the upgrade expense for a current Phenom II owner to make the change to the new revision though? Join me as I aim to find out!"

Techgage.com published a look at CrossFireX performance when utilizing two Radeon HD 5770's
"Want to purchase a Radeon HD 5870, but can't find one in stock? One alternative to consider is instead purchasing two Radeon HD 5770's to take advantage of CrossFireX. Not only does this solution save you up to $80 at current pricing, but it proved in our results to offer even better performance in select titles, such as with Modern Warfare 2."

Reviews: OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333 4GB Low Voltage Dual Channel Memory Kit Review

ThinkComputers.org posted a review on the OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333 4GB Low Voltage Dual Channel Memory Kit
"The standard for DDR3 memory is still 1.5v, but most high performance memory has voltages far above that. Many earlier high performance DDR3 modules had a Vdimm of 1.9v-2.1v. It still amazes me that the memory manufacturers were able to make DDR3 memory run at DDR3-2000 and higher at 1.65v. Today I will be looking at yet another low voltage dual channel kit, this one by OCZ, their Platinum DDR3-1333 4GB kit. It runs with timings of 7-7-7-20, at Intels required 1.65v. And of course these modules sport OCZs shiny platinum heatspreaders. Will this memory take my i7/P55 to victory? Read on to see!"

OCC has published a review on the Topower Tiger 1200W Power Supply
"A mixed bag in the electrical performance stakes. The DC regulation is exceptional with the 12V rail only dropping 20mV when taken from 0 to over 80 amps! Efficiency and power factor levels are very good but not quite up to the claimed 80 Plus certification following the OCC testing methodology. I will mention at this stage the claimed 80 Plus and Nvidia SLI Ready certification of which I can find no evidence, at the time of writing this review, on the 80 Plus Org or Nvidia websites."

TweakTown posted a review on the Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165 15.6-inch 3D Notebook
"Today I am looking at a notebook from Acer called the Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165. This machine has one very unique feature -- it is 3D capable. This is the first notebook from Acer to offer 3D and one of the first on the market to support 3D from the factory.
If you are a big movie and casual game fan, the Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165 may be something you want to check out. The notebook turns plain ol' movies and content into 3D without any drama or extra steps. The coolness of the 3D feature aside, will the Acer Aspire 5738DG-6165 stack up?"

Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the SSD Performance of Marvell SATA-6G vs Intel ICH10
"When the Seagate Barracuda XT was revealed as the World's first-ever third generation SATA 6GBps hard drive, expectations for performance were raised to match the new bandwidth limit. While this drive offered tremendous storage capacity paired to good performance, the transfer speeds were nowhere near the second generation SATA 3GBps limit. This is where Benchmark Reviews turns to our vast collection of Solid State Drive storage products, some of which eclipse the SATA-II range. However, our history of SSD performance tests on the Intel ICH10 Southbridge would prove to be very different than our results on the new Marvell 88SE9123 or 88SE9128 SATA-III chips. In this article, Benchmark Reviews compares Marvell SATA 6G SSD performance against tests on the Intel ICH10 chipset. "

TestFreaks compared the performance of SSD vs HDD on a Netbook
"I know the SSD is faster than the HDD, but what I didn't really know wa show it affected the system performance overall, so being a reviewer I ran tests, lots of tests, to find the answer. I ran storage specific tests, I ran overall system tests and separate tests as well and I found the obvious that the SSD is faster. I also found the not so obvious as well that at the system level the performance seemed lower with the SSD installed. So continue on to see the results of the testing and you can make your own conclusions."
