WINDOWS SERVER 2003 & ATI RADEON DRIVER
Posted by djelite

1st off, yes, I'm running 2k3 like a desktop. I followed the whole Windows Server 2003 to Workstation Guide @ http://www.msfn.org/win2k3/ and everything went perfectly. I am so GLAD that a lot of the background services have been cut out. Also, no themes, windows messenger, sounds and whatever bloated extras there was in XP. In fact, services wise, I had to turn on & fully accelerate less in W2k3 then I had to turn off in WXP. But, I do have a problem with my RADEON 8500 (128MB). The OS sees it as having only 96MB and there are no CATALYST drivers for the OS nor am I led to believe there will ever be one. I'm wondering if someone will make some kind of tweaked out driver for it or is there something that exists out there already for it.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a piece of FAQ from the ATI website:
