yea thats the message i get and i think i will take your advise and purchase some new ram. i think that installing sp2 pushes the system just that little bit further resulting in the blue screen showing up more often than it does with my other o/s. any way i will wait until my new video card arrives and if i am still getting the same problem ill get some new ram asap. also i will try memtest and see what i get from that. thanks for your help
