4 Ways Drones Will Actually Benefit Your Day-to-Day Life

Though the concept of a drone vehicle has been around for several decades — mainly in the context of military and war — it wasn’t until 2014 that consumer interest in drones really exploded. Now, people are coming up with all kinds of practical uses that are set to change our everyday lives.

Drone applications can often feel too theoretical and “out there”. We know that drones have many incredible uses for the future and that they will soon revolutionize entire industries, but what about for you and me? What kind of tangible benefits can we look forward to?

ASUS MG279Q Gaming FreeSync Monitor Review

In this review we will test the 599 EURO FreeSync capable ASUS MG279Q Gaming, a 27-inch 2560x1440 monitor that can do 144Hz. The MG279Q is also FreeSync compatible, which eliminates stutter and tearing while gaming. All features combined quickly makes you realize that the MG279Q Gaming is a spectacular IPS panel based monitor. It offers great image quality and heaps of display connectivity as well. Though the Asus MG279Q has been around for several months now it was still on my 'to-do' list for an in-depth review. As it turns out, it's a bit of beast. This 27in puppy has been fitted with an IPS panel capable of 144Hz at a 2,560x1,440 resolution, that would be WQHD.

ASUS ZenWatch 2 Review: An Affordable Android Wear Smartwatch

Though it still hasn't grabbed consumers like some manufacturers had hoped, the smartwatch market is growing rather quickly, and a number of good options are currently available. For some users, price may be one of the key factors holding them back from buying a smartwatch. While many watches cost at least $250, and some can run hundreds of dollars more, ASUS’s latest ZenWatch 2 we'll be showing you here is available for as little as $129.

Of course, any time we see a budget-friendly smartphone, laptop, tablet, or smartwatch we assume sacrifices were made to keep the price low. In the case of the ZenWatch 2, this is somewhat true but you may be pleasantly surprised by all the features it has to offer...

Gigabyte Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini-ITX Motherboard Review

The mini-ITX form factor is becoming extremely popular with gamers who will be using a single graphics card because it allows them to build a system with premium components that is small and easy enough to take with them to LAN parties or other events. The problem with mini-ITX motherboards has been that they lack many features that their larger ATX counterparts offer. Well Gigabyte is changing that with their Z170N-Gaming 5 motherboard that has all of the features you would want in a full-size ATX motherboard, but in the tiny mini-ITX form factor. Gigabyte was able to pack in Killer E2200 gaming networking, Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3 support, a PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 slot, two USB 3.1 ports (1x Type-C, 1x Type-A), and even 802.11ac dual band wireless. Gigabyte wants this to be the perfect board for gamers building in the mini-ITX form factor. Is it? Let’s take a look and find out!

This meant they featured a video transcoding capability that’s 18x faster than earlier Atom based solutions. Moreover, they featured a HDMI output and virtualization support which allowed users to run multiple operating systems such as Linux and Windows 8.

Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 Fury Video Card Review

The AMD R9 Fury was released in June of last year (2015) under a veil of controversy. Some large review sites were not given a review sample for launch which sparked questions about the AMD position and message they were trying to convey. As many of us know the new Fury chips aren't the fastest on the market but brought with them the first ever High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) implementation and was designed to take advantage of VR and DirectX 12.

The R9 Fury has been out for awhile and In this review we will be looking at one of the custom implementations the Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 Fury. As the name suggests this is a R9 Fury video card using the Sapphire Nitro cooler and Sapphire original PCB design. The design goal of the Sapphire Nitro Fury is to be a cool, quiet and overclockable video card for gamers and hardware enthusiasts who want the best Fury card available.

Synaptics IronVeil Fingerprint Security Technology Review

Security and privacy are words were all too familiar with in the digital age. It seems not a day goes by where we don’t hear about some kind of hacking, data theft, unauthorised access and so much more. With that in mind, it makes sense that consumers would be seeking the next step in protecting their data and today, we get to take a look at the latest prototype product from Synaptic, who have backwards engineered their latest IronVeil security technology into the TteSports Black V2 Laser Gaming Mouse. Now, it’s worth pointing out that this may not be a product that comes to market, as what we’re looking at today is really the sensor. If you keep the mindset that this sensor could be integrated into a mouse, keyboard, a flash drive, your monitor, or virtually anything else in a desktop environment for that matter, this whole concept will make a lot more sense.

We’ve already seen a few examples of other products featuring IronVeil when we visited Synaptics at CES 2016, but this mouse is the first prototype we’ve been able to take away and test ourselves.

TridentZ, Ballistix Sport LT, Vengeance LPX DDR4 Review

DDR4 made its debut with the Intel X99 chipset and it’s taken some time for this new memory standard to filter through beyond the enthusiast platform. In August 2015, Intel released their new Skylake driven 6th Generation Core processors and the Z170 chipset – paving the way for mainstream users to transition from DDR3 to DDR4.

Initially, purchase prices were incredibly high – as with any new technology. But after some six months have elapsed the prices have steadily dropped and there is a broader selection of kits to choose from.
