HTPCnews posted a review on the Ahanix MCE 601 case

Some HTPC enthusiasts are videophiles, some audiophiles, some are even organization addicts but the common denominator among ALL HTPC enthusiasts is that we all want, nay we demand, a high quality, silent, cheap, custom case with a universal IF/RF remote, a VFD, and it must have optional components that are standard... I think you get the idea that we are a very demanding group of people. You would be demanding to if it kept your significant other happy. Like the famous saying goes, you can please some of the people all of the time and you can please all of the people some of the time but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.

If I were to take the main messages common through out all of our complaints… err comments.... it would be to create a case that adheres to computer industry specifications (ATX or MATX), make the included fans silent, do not use a proprietary PSU, get rid of parallel VFDs, include a spot for IR receivers and of course make it look good. Lets dive into the MCE-601 from Ahanix and see if it lives up to these expectations and hopefully more.
