got apex? has posted a review on the AMD Athlon (Thunderbird) 1.2GHz 266MHz FSB & 200MHz FSB processors.

The first thing to consider is whether or not you are advised to upgrading your system memory. When operating on a 200FSB you will need either PC100 SDRAM or the better choice, PC1600 DDR SDRAM. If you choose the "C" model you will be cruising along at 266MHz along the front side bus and will need either PC133 SDRAM or PC2100 DDR SDRAM. Now you may be wondering why the DDR modules are called PC1600 and PC2100. That is very simply explained. When operating on the 200FSB using DDR SDRAM the theoretical memory bandwidth is 1600MB/s, hence we get the title PC1600. Furthering this logic, when operating on a front side bus of 266MHz, the theoretical transfer rate is 2100MB/s, therefore it is appropriately titled PC2100. There is another thing to keep in mind when choosing which model is right for you, but we will discuss that a little later. Right now let´s checkout the features these pair of birdies have to offer.
