After a few months retardation the long-awaited chipset of AMD, AMD-760 finally started to occur in the main-boards. Although VIA faced minor problems with KX133 and KT133 chipsets in the mainboards using AMD processors because of the software drivers, they could finally manage to take their place in the market. Thus, other mainboard manufacturers did not give much attention to AMD-750 chipset, which was released simultaneously. However, despite the fact that VIA increased the performance later with some tricks like Superbly-Pass, people still looked forward to the next chipset of AMD, AMD-760. AMD-760 (AMD-761/AMD-766) is really of great importance since it will facilitate the usage of 266Mhz. FSB, DDR and dual-processor. (I guess AMD systems with dual-processors will be released within one or two months.) AMD also announced its new processors that will work with AMD-760 at 266 Mhz. FSB and called them Athlon-C.
