HardwareOC has posted a comparsion review between the Pentium 3 Coppermine and the AMD Thunderbird at 1 Gigahertz.

1 Gigahertz is the top of what a Coppermine based Intel Pentium 3 processor can do. The 1.13 Gigahertz recall just reinforced what we all believed before, to get any higher raw clock speeds Intel needed a new processor. They didn´t kick the Pentium 3 into the dust with the release of the Pentium 4. The Pentium 4 processors are outrageously expensive and their current performance increase over the top of the line 1.2 Gigahertz Thunderbird from AMD is not justified by the price. So we here at HardwareOC will take the 1 GiG giants from both companies for a little spin, along with a fewer lower clockers, seeing what they can offer you guys.
