MSI H55M-ED55 (H55 Express) Motherboard Review
TweakTown posted a review on the MSI H55M-ED55 (H55 Express) Motherboard

MSI, also known as Microstar International to some, has been around for a long time. In fact, they were one of the first companies to have a working Athlon motherboard back in the heady days of AMD and the Slot A CPU. Unfortunately somewhere between then and now MSI sort of dropped off the radar. We had the chance to talk with them at CES and they told us that they had some big plans moving forward (Including their Big Bang line-up).

But MSI let us know that they were not just going to push out top end (and expensive) products; one of their goals was to bring enthusiast class features to their entire product range. These are things like OC Genie, HDD backup and XHD (Auto build RAID 0). We have had their H55 Express based motherboard, the H55M-ED55, in the lab and can tell you just how well these features work on this entry level board.

Sapphire Radeon HD5870 Video Card Review
Ninjalane posted a review on the Radeon HD5870 from Sapphire

Sapphire has created a very impressive package with the Radeon HD5870 that tends to make up for the fact this card is based on the ATI reference design. However none of that should matter considering the overall gaming experience and included care package.

Proporta Protective Laptop Bag Review
iGadget Life posted a review on the Proporta Protective Laptop Bag

Today for review I've got another product from our friends over at Proporta, and it's one that I like quite a bit an one that I think you'll like as well. It doesn't have any fancy name it's just called the Protective Laptop Bag, but it's much more than that really. It's a messenger bag yes, but it can turn into a backpack, there are straps hidden in the back that you can pull out to have yourself a backpack. This bag is very well made with padding between each of the compartments and enough pockets to carry everything you need and then some. The bag material is a thick cordura making it strong and protective, and the best part is that it costs under $40. This is a bag that is well worth the cost, it's easily comparable to bags that cost two to three times as much

Thermaltake Toughpower XT 775 W Power Supply Review
Hardware Secrets posted a review on the Thermaltake Toughpower XT 775 W Power Supply

Thermaltake is adding four new models to their Toughpower XT series, 565 W, 665 W, 775 W and 875 W. The first question that came into our minds was "do they use a different internal design"? This question is important since we tested the 750 W version of Toughpower XT and it presented a very high noise level at +12 V output when delivering its labeled wattage. Let's see if things improved with the 775 W model.

Arctic Cooling E361-WM Earphones Review
DreamWare Computers takes a look at the Arctic Cooling E361-WM Earphones

The past few months has seen some great development of Arctic Cooling's product line. Alongside their usual cooling products they have sprouted out into some other accessory lines as well, such as rechargeable batteries and their newest earphone line. Being an audiophile myself, my earphone collection is worth nearly as much as my computer system is. That being said, there's no doubt that I was excited when the opportunity arose to check out the E361-WM earphones from Arctic Cooling. I have some great competition for these little guys, so let's see what they're all about!

Lamptron FC5 Fan Controller Review
PCShopTalk posted a review on the Lamptron FC5 Fan Controller

In our era, when more and more powerful and hot computer systems are sold on the market, we have to install a lot of fans to keep the computers cool. In most cases, the motherboard does not have enough fan headers for all the fans we have installed inside the case and this is when the necessity of a fan controller comes in. On the market we can find a lot of devices of this kind; Lamptron decided to make a difference by using a screen that can change its color to match our preference or the case theme. In the next review I will look upon their FC5 model and see what other interesting features it brings.

Patriot Box Office Media Player Review
Hardware Canucks posted a review of the Patriot Box Office Media Player

For many people, home theater PCs (HTPCs) are daunting systems where they can easily get caught up in a web of conflicting codecs and some downright expensive hardware costs. Dedicated media players have been around for quite some time and until recently only allowed users to watch standard definition media files from a separate storage device. Now, with devices like Patriot's Box Office, easy access to high definition content is right at your fingertips.

ATI CATALYST 10.2 & 10.3 Driver Preview
Legit Reviews posted ATI CATALYST 10.2 & 10.3 Driver Preview

ATI will be releasing 10.2 Catalyst video drivers later today and this driver unlocks many new features that AMD has been working on for some time. Read on to see how ATI Catalyst 10.2 and even next months 10.3 drivers do when we fully test them. Read on to see what the new ATI CrossFireX profiles, Ultra Low Power States and other new features are all about.

By far the Application Profiles feature is the coolest feature in CCC 10.2. I think it will revolutionize the way drivers will be updated. If it works as well as it looks like it will, we will see performance gains much sooner for newly released game titles. Despite not having as much of a cool factor as the application profiles does, let's not forget about the ATI PowerPlay. By downloading and updating to CATALYST 10.2 video card drivers it means that consumers can save money on your electric bill, which is fantastic. Reducing your systems power draw by 7-12 Watts may not seem like a whole lot, but over time it does add up. If you are like me and leave your computer on pretty much 24/7 it will save you money in the long run. It's not every day that you get new features, improved performance and a reduction in power. This is by far one of the greatest updates in CATALYST history!

Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler Review
TweakNews posted a review on the Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler

Gelid has a worthy product in the Tranquillo, especially for a relatively new company. The Tranquillo easily bests the performance of the OEM cooler while being noticeably quieter, even at full speed. The design doesn't provide any board-cooling options though, but is relatively easy to install.

AZZA Spartan 102 computer case Review
APH Networks checked out the AZZA Spartan 102 computer case

What do you think of when I mention the word 'Spartan'? Now I can't speak for the majority, but that word reminds me of the city-state of Sparta in Ancient Greece. Characterized by their exemplary military power back in 650 BC to 371 BC, the fictionalized retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae also happens to be the topic of the 2007 action film "300" starring Gerald Butler. The movie 300, in a nutshell, is this: a King (Leonidas) leads three hundred Spartans into a battle against the Persians (who were led by Xerxes), whose army numbered over one million soldiers. I think it's safe to say that the Spartans in this regard are viewed as underdogs. At this point, you may be wondering how this relates to our review. Well, today we will be taking a look at the AZZA Spartan 102, a budget (Or otherwise value oriented) mid-tower chassis from AZZA. AZZA is a relatively new player not only in the computer chassis market, but also a newcomer in APH Networks' review line-up. In the past several months, AZZA has made huge strides in the industry, introducing a variety of different cases competing in several different price brackets; ranging from high end products for the hardcore gamer, to budget chassis for casual gamers. The AZZA Spartan 102 is a great example of the latter, which we will be looking at today. Does the Spartan 102, priced at a mere $39.99 MSRP, keep up with the likes of Antec's Three Hundred and the NZXT Beta? Can it do as the Spartans have done, and upset the competition? Or will it be overwhelmed by its stiff and likely more experienced competition? Read on to find out!

A Look at ATI's Catalyst 10.2 and 10.3 Drivers

ATI Catalyst 10.2 and 10.3 feature preview - CrossFireX profiles and more
Elite Bastards posted their ATI Catalyst 10.2 and 10.3 feature preview

Starting with the bad news, Catalyst 10.2 won't be bringing us user customisable application profiles to the table, despite all of the clamour for just this feature over recent years. However, the good news is that what ATI have done is to effectively split the part of their driver that deals with application profiles out into its own discrete file, meaning that updates to this profile list can be released separately by ATI for download by users at any time as required. So, rather than having to remain in line with monthly driver releases, new profiles can be released several times a day if required, to ensure that the latest games are supported properly as soon as the driver team have tested and created the required profile. These profiles won't just be limited to adding in CrossFire support either (although it will probably remain their primary purpose), as profiles can also be used to fix other compatibility issues such as the ability to force anti-aliasing in certain titles and the like, making the new system good news even for those running only a single GPU in their machine.
