Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Review
OCC has published a new review of the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450

Am I disappointed in the overclocking headroom available from this processor. Not in the least! With the insane speeds being offered up by the dual core variants, I was still searching for a bit more than the 3.7GHz I was able to pull from this quad core processor. But even though I was expecting more, a greater than 1 GHz overclock is nothing to laugh at. The clockspeed increase was also done with a relatively low 1.36 volts to the processor. Much less than I have needed with both my Q6600 and QX9770s to gain the maximum core speed. Temperatures were, for the most part, kept in check throughout the testing. 64 degrees Celsius under load was the highest temperature I saw on air cooling during my stability testing with Prime 95. With better cooling, could the max overclock be increased? Probably, but the vast majority of users will be on air, so that's where I spent my time testing.

Asus' Eee PC 4G XP sub-notebook Review
The Tech Report posted a review on the Asus' Eee PC 4G XP sub-notebook

Asus created a whole new class of budget sub-notebooks when it launched the Eee PC late last year. Since its launch, the Eee has been so popular that the likes of MSI, Gigabyte, HP, and even Dell are scrambling to come up with their own take on the formula. The formula, of course, combines relatively low-end hardware that's fast enough for basic tasks with an ultra-portable sub-notebook form factor that's much smaller than other budget notebooks. These systems come pre-loaded with Linux and free software to keep costs down, allowing Asus to sell the standard Eee PC 4G for only $400.

The marriage of true PC functionality with sub-notebook portability at an affordable price makes the Eee PC ideal for a wide range of applications and users. Many folks who have never even heard of alternative operating systems may be turned off by the Eee's unfamiliar Linux OS, though. The device's Xandros distribution is by no means difficult to use, and the bundled applications offer all the right functionality. But the alien environment does take some getting used to, especially if you want to be productive.

The vast majority of consumers have little experience outside the Windows world. While some may enjoy learning the ins and outs of a new operating system, I suspect that most would rather get rolling in a familiar environment. It seems Asus agrees, because the Eee PC is now available with Windows XP.

Getting Windows running on the Eee isn't a particularly impressive achievement—the original was fully compatible with Windows XP, and Asus even provided the necessary drivers if you wanted to install the OS yourself. What makes this latest XP-powered Eee PC 4G special is the fact that it's selling for the exact same price as the Linux version, so you're essentially getting Windows for free. And we like free. Read on to see if XP makes the Eee PC better or if its budget hardware bogs down under the weight of a Windows OS.

ASUS DRW-2014 L1T DVD-RW Review
Virtual-Hideout posted a review on the ASUS DRW-2014 L1T DVD-RW

As far as DVD optical drives go, the Asus DRW-2014L1T is right on par with a lot of the other drives in its class. The LightScribe is a bonus for those who like to label their discs. Most drive noise is created when the optical disc starts to wobble and vibrate. This vibration is transferred to the drive motor and tray, thus making the noise. The QuieTrack feature and Auto Vibration Reducing System seem to work really well, as the noise level from a spun up disc was low. FlextraLinkT prevents buffer under run problems caused by an empty data buffer, thereby eliminating the creation of CD-coasters. This technology is similar to, and seems to work as well as, other companies' buffer under run technologies.

Coolink ChipChilla Chipset Cooler Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Coolink ChipChilla Chipset Cooler

When Coolink first notified me about the ChipChilla, the first thing I thought of was the reference NVIDIA 680i motherboard and how loud the stock chipset cooler is. Coolink advertises the ChipChilla as a solution for overheating Northbridge chipsets, and while it is true that a few of the current chipsets get very hot, they rarely overheat to the point of failure. It is not a coincidence that the chipsets that run hot are also the ones with very loud fans, opening the door for an aftermarket solution.

Recently I tested the Coolink GFXChilla in our Mega 9-way VGA Cooler Roundup and found that the cooler performed very well for its size and that the unit was well made. The ChipChilla at first glance appears to follow the same lines as the GFXChilla, and the two when used in combination would add visual appeal to a system.

Terratec 2400 Dual TV tuner Review
XtremeComputing posted a review on the Terratec 2400 Dual TV tuner

Today I will be looking at a product from a manufacturer that I personally don’t know a great deal about, you however maybe more familiar with the name of TerraTec. The product I will be reviewing is a digital tv card the Cinergy 2400i DT. This is a dual digital tuner card, nothing special there you may think BUT this card uses a pci express x1 slot which is refreshing as, in my honest opinion, most manufacturers overlook this expansion slot.

Cooler Master Cosmos S Case Review
HardwareLogic posted a review on the Cooler Master Cosmos S Case

Inspired by race cars (per Coolermaster's press release) this newest incarnation of the Cosmos is designated by it's S moniker, or Sport edition. Perhaps they mean sport racing with Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, as the sleek and defined look of the Cosmos S sure enough wouldn't mix well with the drunken crowds and painted up racing billboads of Nascar. Regardless, the polished and aggressive new face is exciting in itself, and we out to see how this new thoroughbred competes with it's more modest and silent sibling, the Cosmos 1000 which we reviewed back in December.

AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition Review
TechSpot posted a review on the AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition

In terms of performance, AMD has stated that the new B3 processors will be no faster than the original Phenom X4 CPUs without the TLB erratum fix enabled on a clock-for-clock basis. Therefore the Phenom X4 9600 and the new Phenom X4 9650, for example, should be no different in terms of performance. Just as well that should mean that today's flagship Phenom, the X4 9850, should sit somewhere between the Phenom 9700 and 9900 processors that we reviewed earlier this year.

It will be interesting to see how the 9850 stacks up against the rest of the Phenom family and of course, Intel's Q6600.

Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Review
Bios Magazine published a review on the Lenovo ThinkPad X300

Lenovo faced a great challenge when designing the ThinkPad X300. It had to make things really small without losing key capabilities, such as performance, battery life, quality, reliability and functionality. With thanks to Intel's ever-shrinking Centrino platform Lenovo has created a laptop that is amazingly thin and light, but still looks great, is built like a tank, and offers plenty of configuration options. As far as we're concerned the ThinkPad X300 is the best ultra-portable laptop you can currently buy.
