Technibble.com has now posted an article about "How to Create a Windows XP Virtual Machine"

A Virtual Machine is a piece of software which emulates (pretends), to be machine (computer) to do an abnormal task such as running Windows on a Macintosh computer for example, to occur via the trapping of computer instructions. It is quite literally a computer running ON a computer. One of the by-products of this is that the two systems can be entirely separated from each other, which allows a level of security that just can't be matched. Now, lets create our own XP Virtual Machine.

Overclockers Online has posted a new review on the Antec P182

Improving on the already popular P180, the P182 should satisfy almost everyone's needs. The design is visually appealing and also very utilitarian. To set itself apart from competitors, the case has many refinements such as the silicone-grommeted hard drive cage and sound-absorbing panels. Also, with room for five 120mm fans, cooling should not be a problem at all. Special features include the water-cooling grommets and the fan control switches.

3D Game Man takes a look at the A.C. Ryan AluBox TFX HDD Enclosure

A.C. Ryan has really impressed me with their build quality and thought process. From the packaging on, quality of build really expresses itself. The 1.8mm thick aluminum creates a great cooling side affect along with a durability that can only come from a thick metal. The ability to connect both SATA and IDE drives is not uncommon in the market place, but having both of these features along with the options for using USB and eSATA for data transfer is awesome.

TheTechLounge posted a review on the Iriver X20 Portable Media Player

I've been a fan of iriver products for a while now. Like many electronics companies they are primarily based overseas. As such, we in the States miss out on a handful of nifty little gadgets that our Asian or European brothers and sisters have in abundance. In fact, iriver showcased a select few non-U.S. market devices at CES '07. I have to admit, I didn't give them much of a glance as I figured we'd never see them again. Not so. Today I'll be playing with the iriver X20, a 4GB media player that runs with the like of the iPod nano and Sansa E200 line of PMPs. But don't expect to find one at your local Best Buy or Circuit City. The X20 is available online from our product sponsor, but is this little bit of gray-market goodness worth exploring?

XSReviews has reviewed the Sapphire x1950 Pro AGP

Although PCI-Express has been around for a while now, there are still plenty of people out there that haven't made the switch yet, and are therefore still using AGP cards. However, there is a problem here as a lot of manufacturers offer very few options for AGP gamers. Fortunately, Sapphire are not a company to let this lot down and have sent us their x1950 Pro AGP to let us see what it can do.

BIOS Magazine posted a review on the Netgear RangeMax NEXT (WNR854T) router

The WNR854T is a snap to setup and configure thanks to the bundled wizard, but it's not without its shortcomings. Most noticeably, there is no wall-mount option (which is where you'll get best reception) and the upright case with internal antenna makes positioning difficult. The cords also tug at the very light case. It also lacks configuration for QoS, has support for only one DDNS provider, and port forward/port triggering options are sparsely populated. But for many, these advanced features don't mean much. The back of the router has the usual four-port switch, and the front has a nice array of easy to read indicator lights. Ultiamtely it's speed, security and manageability that counts, and Netgear's WNR854T is the fastest of the draft-N routers we've tested. It also has some great extras, such as a Gigabit switch, but it does disappoint slightly at long range. Nevertheless, if you are thinking of making the move to draft-802.11n, you can't do much better than this top wireless performer.

PDX Reviews posted a review on the OCZ OCZ PC2-6400 Reaper Memory

While most other DDR2-800 memory kits run with 4-4-4-12 timings or worse, OCZ has taken a step up on the competition and dropped the timings to 4-3-3-15 and I am sure with some persuasion, these modules might even be able to run at CL3 timings.

Bjorn3D checked out the Crucial Ballistix 2GB PC2-8500 Memory

For those curious to know the current price situation is from a strong oversupply of memory chips coordinated with somewhat lower than anticipated demand, which has created the current abundance of mail-in-rebates and price slashing that can be found in general. Word is that some memory manufacturers are now cutting production rather than risk taking losses. Prices are currently as low as they can go and should actually climb a little once the supply situation stabilizes, so donÂ’t wait to long if looking for that new kit of RAM!

So with that in mind today we will take a look at the Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1067MHz (PC2-8500) 2 x 1GB memory kit. During this review the price on this kit indeed did drop by roughly 66%, making it a veritable steal at just $119 after MIR at some online merchants.

Elite Bastards posted EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB Superclocked video card review

We've been teasing you about the factory overclocked properties of this board for long enough, so it's time to lift the lid on just what those clock speeds are. Starting with the Superclocked's core clock speed (which basically denotes the clock speed of anything on the board that isn't memory or Stream Processors); this sees an increase to 576MHz from the reference 500MHz speed used by NVIDIA. As the clock speed of G80's Stream Processors are tied to this core clock by a particular ratio, we also see a big increase in this discipline, up to 1.35GHz from 1.2GHz on a reference board - That puts it in line with a GeForce 8800 GTX for raw speed, albeit not in the sense of the actual number of shading units. Finally, the 640MB of GDDR3 memory on board gets itself an extra 50MHz to play with, clocked to 850MHz against the 800MHz of a reference part.

MBReview checked out the OCZ 2GB Reaper HPC PC2-8500 memory

We have had decent luck thus far with 1066MHz kits overclocking beyond the 1100MHz barrier, though they had trouble exceeding 1125MHz. I'm glad to say that the OCZ Reaper HPC kit managed to break this barrier coming in with a stable overclock of 106MHz, putting the cap at 1172MHz.

Howtoforge posted the perfect Xen 3.1.0 setup for Debian Etch (i386)

This tutorial describes how to install Xen 3.1.0 on a Debian Etch system (i386). Xen lets you create guest operating systems (*nix operating systems like Linux and FreeBSD), so called virtual machines or domUs, under a host operating system (dom0). Using Xen you can separate your applications into different virtual machines that are totally independent from each other (e.g. a virtual machine for a mail server, a virtual machine for a high-traffic web site, another virtual machine that serves your customers' web sites, a virtual machine for DNS, etc.), but still use the same hardware.

TrustedReviews have looked at the Sony VAIO VGN-FZ11L

Billed as providing “Entertainment in style” the FZ range should be brimming with all the multimedia goodies that would make for a perfect portable living room entertainment centre. However, only half the range features the all important HDMI output for connecting to HDTVs and none of them have TV tuners or screens large enough to display 1080p video. Moreover, none of them ship with Media Center remotes. All of which suggests the Entertainment moniker is a bit of a misnomer but that’s not to say the FZ series isn’t good, it’s just a bit mis-branded.

It’s been a few months since I last reviewed one of Fujifilm’s F-series cameras, in fact it was January and the camera was the FinePix F31fd. I have to admit I like the F-series cameras a lot. Everything USB posted SimpleTech Pininfarina-designed 500GB External Hard Drive Review

Have you ever noticed how boring the external hard drive market is compared to some of the finer computer cases on the market? With perhaps one or two exceptions, everything currently on shelves is either squared off, constructed of dull matte plastic, or glows so freakishly bright it may as well substitute for a lighthouse. Today, we bring you an in-depth review of another exception to this travesty, the SimpleTech SimpleDrive External Hard Drive. While the name may fall flat, read on to see just how this Ferrari-inspired designer hard drive soars.

Tech ARP posted Seagate Momentus 7200.2 Notebook Hard Drive Review

Notebook users have always been saddled with slow hard drives, all in the name of battery conservation. Even expensive, performance-grade notebook hard drives that spin at 7200 RPM cannot even come close to the performance of cheap desktop hard drives. That may change with the new Seagate Momentus 7200.2 hard drive.

This hard drive boasts 60% greater capacity and 28.8% better sustained transfer rate than its predecessor. But that's not all. It even comes with an integrated free-fall sensor that greatly increases its survivability during accidental falls. Talk about combining performance with robustness.

I managed to get it running with FSB speeds as high as 345MHz - but only with significantly reduced multipliers. In order to get the best possible balanced score, I spent a lot of time trying different multiplier and FSB combinations, and frankly my experiments were made needlessly frustrating by the unpredictable ways it would choose the memory speed dividers.

Viper Lair takes a look at the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 45W CPU

It's important to put into perspective what we're looking at today. The intended market will be corporate workstations and the silent PC or HTPC market. We have a forum thread going on debating the benefits of energy efficient processors and energy bills.
