Lian-Li PC-A77 – Review
Clunk posted a review on the Lian-Li PC-A77 case

I got my first Lian-Li case back in 2002, it was the second revision PC-60, complete with a full set of 80mm fans and a beautiful , silver, hard anodised, aluminium finish.

Since then, I have owned several Lian-Li cases with varying degrees of customisation, and it was only around 18 months ago that I strayed from the Lian-Li path and straight under the wheels of a Mountain Mods truck.

I have never really liked the MM case and have been looking for a replacement for a while, but nothing has pushed my buttons until this week, and that button pusher was the Lian-Li PC-A77-B.

Battle of the VGAs - reviewed
playREACTION posted a roundup review of 6 nVidia based video cards

In today’s ever-changing world of blisteringly fast technology, and shortened development cycles, owning and making full use of the latest GPU on the market is quickly becoming a headache, and an expensive one at that.

With NVIDIA dominating 2007 with their highly successful Geforce 8 series, namely the 8800 Ultra, GTX, GT and GTS models, together with their G92 reincarnation, and ATI seeking to make a comeback after their merger with AMD yielded DAAMIT but not much tangible in terms of GPU hardware to die for, what does 2008 have to offer?

XFX GeForce 8800 GS & 8800 GS XXX Review
Bjorn3D takes a look at the XFX GeForce 8800 GS & 8800 GS XXX.

At times it feels like you just can't keep up with the rest of the world. There is always something that creeps up on you when you least expect it, and many times you are not ready for the changes that come along with it. Videocards are no exception to this. I am the type of person that would love to be on the bleeding edge of technology at all times, but my wallet just can't always keep up, so sacrifices are made. I recently got the chance to take a look at the NVIDIA 8800 GS and 8800 GS XXX from XFX. You may be thinking that these cards are old, as we are now in the 9000 and 200 series from NVIDIA, but for those of us who have to take a slower approach to upgrading our PCs, these cards are a great value.

SilverStone Kublai KL-02 Computer Case Review
APH Networks posted a review on the SilverStone Kublai KL-02 Computer Case

I am not going to lie to you, but I am not the first one to say it -- time sure flies by at an alarming rate. The last time we reviewed a case was back in September 2007 of the popular Antec P182 -- and that's nearly ten months ago already. Prior to that, it was the NZXT Duet in May 2007, and Thermaltake's Aguila in December 2006. Oh boy, it's the second half of 2008 already, and it seems like I haven't really done much this year! Speaking of the Thermaltake Aguila, I've been using it with my ever-changing main computer that's gone though dozens upon dozens of upgrades and revisions since it was first built in November 2006 -- with pretty much no components resembling of the original build. That said, the case was still the same, and I felt that it was time for a change. I wanted something that was a midtower that can fit neatly on my desk, but spacious inside. I wanted a clean, sleek case that suited my tastes with a large window on the side so I can show off my components and well practiced cabling skills. I wanted a high quality case with excellent build quality from a reputable manufacturer. Well, long story short, either I was not looking hard enough, or that it was simply hard to find. Right off the top of my head, there are not many brands that has cases that fit within this category; of which SilverStone and Lian-Li are amongst the few. But it was not until SilverStone themselves brought my attention to their KL-02 case -- and at first glance, it seems that it's the case that fulfills all my requirements. Let's do a closer examination to see how it goes in real life.

Pinnacle PCTV nanoStick Review
Bios Magazine posted a review on the Pinnacle PCTV nanoStick

The PCTV nanoStick is great value for money if you're looking for the smallest USB digital TV tuner on the market. But similar to other Pinnacle TV tuners we had a nightmare scanning for TV channels using the supplied antenna. Internet radio quality was quick and easy. After quickly glancing through Pinnacle's forums, it seems a lot of other users have problems scanning for channels - regardless of reception area. When we gave up and connected a rooftop aerial, video quality was good - even at full screen - and the added benefit of being able to trim videos and burn them onto DVD means you can watch recorded programs on the big screen once you get back to the comfort of your living room. Advanced users not needing to compromise on size should look at Pinnacle's PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick, which sports twin digital TV tuners so you can watch one channel while recording another or record two different channels at once. Overall, the PCTV nanoStick is an attractive package considering its size and price, but it comes with a serious caveat: you need to get the aerial in just the right position to work perfectly on all channels - or just ditch it and use a proper indoor aerial to get the best signal every time. But that's defeating the object, of course.

Diamond HD 4870 512MB Review
TheTechLounge posted a review on the Diamond HD 4870 512MB video card

The 4870 is an excellent card, but for now, all the models are functionally identical, and there are yet to be factory-overclocked cards, let alone custom-cooled models. Variation ranges from changing the sticker to adding spiffy adapters. If you buy Diamond, you're not buying a different card, you're buying better service, only they're not charging extra.

SilverStone Nightjar 450W Zero dBA Fanless Power Supply Review
3D Game Man posted a review on the SilverStone Nightjar 450W Zero dBA Fanless Power Supply

The NightJar Fanless PSU series is available in two flavors, 300W and 450W. I'll be reviewing the Nightjar 450W Zero dBA Fanless Power Supply (SST-ST45NF) which peaks at 500W and this is more than enough power for a HTPC or a silent gaming build. This PSU uses solid state Capacitors which results in cleaner more reliable power than cheap capacitors found in many other PSUs on the market. The housing is made from thick aluminum and it acts as a heastink since this PSU does have a fan to keep it cool. It also has plenty of ventilation holes, but it's crucial to have excellent case ventilation to insure this PSU gets adequate cooling. Watch the video to find out more.

AMD has a range of chipsets available for its Phenom processor, these including the 780G chipset; the first of the 7 series to come out from AMD, and by far one of the most powerful integrated chipsets available today.

ASRock has been one of the loyal followers for AMD and has produced some rather impressive boards for its low budget status. The company has come up with a new 780G chipset oriented board designed for the HTPC and Digital PC environment.

NZXT Tempest Case Review
Virtual-Hideout posted a review on the NZXT Tempest Case

Despite the wide variety of cases out there, from HTPC units to full towers, there's one quality that they should all possess in order to qualify as being worthwhile and that is having good airflow. It doesn't matter if a case looks like the next Mona Lisa if it doesn't keep your rig cool. With this in mind, NZXT has released the Tempest, a gaming-oriented case that claims to be the "Air Flow King". With six fans included stock, two of which are huge 140mm units the Tempest certainly looks the part. Can this mid-tower live up to the hype?

Coolink GFXChilla VGA Cooler Review
Legit Reviews posted a review on the Coolink GFXChilla VGA Cooler

A couple weeks ago when the ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card came out the card proved itself to be a price versus performance winner, but we couldn't ignore the high temperatures that it ran at. Our temperature testing showed that the Radeon HD 4850 ran at 85C at load, which was within specifications, but is too hot for us to ignore. We install a Coolink GFXChilla on a Radeon HD 4850 with the hopes of reducing temperatures and you'll be shocked to see the results!

Prestigio Data Safe II Fashion Edition Review
InsideHW.com has posted review about Prestigio Data Safe II Fashion Edition

USB hard disks lately become very popular. This especially goes for 2.5'' models. The reasons for that can be found in their usefulness and practicality. Yet, we are living in times when it is necessary to transfer huge amounts of data from place to place. At first, manufacturers on market fought with larger and larger capacity of these devices. Lately, when capacity stopped being key factor, manufacturers turned to HDD case design. On that field, Prestigio went step ahead of its competitors and launched Prestigio data Safe II Fashion Edition...
