ASRock 4Core1333-eSATA2 Intel P31 Mainboard Review
OC Workbench posted ASRock 4Core1333-eSATA2 Intel P31 Mainboard Review

ASRock makes another first with its 4Core1333-eSATA2. This is probably the first time that we see ASRock making a entry level board with a recently announced chipset, the Intel P31.

ASRock 4Core1333-eSATA2 is based on the P31/G31+ICH7R chipset. Unlike its brothers that are based on 945GC chipset, supports the full range of Intel processors, they include LGA 775 for Intel Core Quad / Core Extreme / Core Duo, supporting Quad Core Kentsfield processors.

As we mentioned previously, this Intel P31 board runs faster than a P35. How much faster can it run? Will it be more successful than the P35 chipset? Read the review to find out.

Epson Stylus Photo R285 Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Epson Stylus Photo R285

This is a reasonable ink-jet photo printer, but it doesn't stand out from the crowd. Similar models from Canon and HP provide higher quality prints on plain paper and can match the Stylus Photo R285 on speed, despite their lower paper specifications. The Epson machine is quite cheap to run, but can be noisy, particularly if you print in draft mode.

Samsung SyncMaster XL20 LED Backlight Monitor Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Samsung SyncMaster XL20 LED Backlight Monitor

With the XL20, Samsung has clearly tried to bring the benefits of LED backlit displays to a more affordable price point and thereby a greater audience. On that score, it's succeeded admirably. I've never seen an LCD display with colours as rich. If you want access to a wide colour gamut display, without paying earth shattering prices, then right now this is your only choice.

Olympus FE-250 Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Olympus FE-250

With the FE-250, Olympus has redeemed many of the black marks gathered by previous models in the series. For a very reasonable price it offers excellent build quality, decent performance and excellent picture quality, while maintaining the simplicity and ease-of-use for which it was designed.

Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H Motherboard Review
Motherboard.org posted a review on the Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H Motherboard

This board is one of those products that can either really be a beneficial item in your build or leave you wanting a bit more. I say this because if the motherboard is to be used in a Media Center or Home Theatre PC it is an outstanding product that is well worth looking into and is priced reasonably as well. It is small, has HDMI output for High-Def viewing, decent sound and embedded graphics for those who only game in a little way. As far as being a gamer oriented product the Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H is mildly in that category, but no CrossFire support puts it in the low spectrum and onboard DX9 only graphics are considered in the same fashion.

Jetart X Cool NP8000 Review
XSReviews has reviewed the Jetart X Cool NP8000

Although Jetart products aren't widely available in the western part of the world, they have produced some great coolers in the past, among them some interesting notebook solutions. Today I am testing out their newest laptop cooler, the X Cool NP8000. It's designed to be lightweight and portable, but will it be effective?

Akasa Combo Card Reader Review
Techconnect Magazine has posted a review of Akasa's Combo Card Reader

While the large variety of supported memory formats can easily deem Akasa's reader as useful, and the presence of additional USB ports can boost its importance, one of the device's best selling points is speed. Transferring data on and off portable players, digital cameras or mobile phones, equipped with the appropriate memory cards can be excruciating slow, even with the grand advancements of today's technology, but all that discomfort can be addressed and partially solved by the Akasa reader.

PowerColor HD 2600 XT Review
Bjorn3D posted a review on the PowerColor HD 2600 XT video card

It's been quite hectic lately with these Shader Model 4.0 cards being out. Not only NVIDIA came up as a winner here in terms of availability, the performance of G80 cards was more than standard when compared against R600 boards. The end of June marked AMD's launch of ATI Radeon HD 2600 and 2400 series which were pretty late anyway. Take a note though that mainstream and entry level cards are always overdue and flagship high-end products come first to the game.

For todays reading pleasure we have Powercolor HD 2600 XT with 256 MB of onboard 128-bit GDDR3 memory. There is GDDR4 model, but it wasn't available at that time. It may not be a bleeding edge performer, nonetheless it looks like an interesting DirectX® 10 product with HD-ready output.

Because the first card I had received was defective, it took a while before this review could see the daylight. Believe me though, it had nothing to do with AMD accidentally shipping bad HD 2600 / 2400 cards into the market. Some say that was a rumor, but sources close to Bjorn3D claim there was a batch of broken Radeons in one of the warehouses.

Mushkin HP-580 580W Power Supply Review
Hardwarecanucks posted a review of the Mushkin HP-580 580W Power Supply

With its newly reduced price and great looking specifications, the Mushkin HP-580 is definitely high on many consumers wish lists. Unfortunately, after reviewing both the Mushkin HP-550 and the XP-650 power supplies, we had high expectations which this power supply simply failed to meet. While most of the performance numbers for the HP-580 are acceptable for a budget unit, the voltage regulation on the +12V rails left much to be desired.

Freecom DataTank Gateway WLAN Review
BIOS Magazine posted a review on the Freecom DataTank Gateway WLAN

Take one outrageously well engineered network drive. Attach two 802.11g wireless antenna. What do you get? A sumptuous network attached storage device that looks like it has come right out of Apple's design studio. Thankfully, Freecom's DataTank Gateway WLAN (=A3369) is not the preserve of Apple fanboys - it runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, making it a neat choice for design conscious users looking to share large files in style.

Galaxy 8600 Ge Video Card Overclocking Review
Madshrimps posted a review on the Galaxy 8600 Ge Video Card Overclocking

How can you differentiate yourself as video card manufacturer in a crowded market? Galaxy decided to add extra cooling and apply very high factory overclocked speeds to their 8600 GT based products which they call the 8600 GE. Coming close to speeds of the more expensive 8600 GTS we find out if this video card is worth your money if you are looking for a budget-minded VGA upgrade.

Bioshock for PC Video Game Review
Another Bioshock review, this time from I4U NEWS

The sheen effect as you walk through water running over entry ways and doors is very cool. I ran the game maxed out at 2560 x 1600 on my test system. I found that at these settings the game locked up very frequently. At least every ten minutes of game time I would get a lock up and have to press reset to recover.

CoolIT Systems RAM Cooling Fan Review
OCModShop posted CoolIT Systems RAM Cooling Fan Review

Active RAM cooling is no longer in the realm of the hard-core overclock er; it is virtually essential to maintain performance on modern hardware.

CoolIT Systems has recently burst onto the aftermarket computer component market with innovative products designed to cool your rig down. Their RAM Fan is intended to address the problem of hot memory while having over the "minimum requirement of flair". The extra airflow doesn't just cool your memory modules; the cool the surrounding voltage regulators and chipsets, which only improves overclockabiliy, stability, and longevity.

iStar T-7M1-SA Removable SATA Hard Drive Rack Review
DragonSteelMods posted a review on the iStar T-7M1-SA Removable SATA Hard Drive Rack

There are numerous ways to transport data around, portable hard drives, USB flash drives, DVDs etc but if you're like me and have a couple systems in your house that just gets to be a real pain. I do back-ups all the time, and I transfer data back and forth between systems and using a portable device works but it's not the easiest solution there is. I've found that using a mobile rack like the one I have for review today from iStarUSA, the T-7M1-SA Removable SATA Hard Drive Rack is one of the easiest ways to transport large amounts of data to and from several computers. Of course you'll need to have two of these types of racks to do the swapping job, but the iStar mobile rack does feature active cooling so it can be used also as a way to keep your hard drive cool and easily accessible if need be.

Samsung SyncMaster 2232GW 22inch Widescreen LCD Monitor Review
Tweaknews.net has posted a review on the Samsung SyncMaster 2232GW 22inch Widescreen LCD Monitor

For the Syncmaster 2232GW being reviewed today, Samsung took their main 22" LCD panel it already had in stock, covered the normally dull panel screen with glossy covering called MagicClear to enhance picture clarity and contrast and encased it all in a stylish glossy black case. This monitor is marketed to be more than just an excellent LCD monitor, it is also being pushed to be a designer addition to your home or office desktop.

Corsair VX450W Review
techPowerUp posted a review on the Corsair VX450W PSU

Corsair's new VX450W power supply comes with a maximum load of 450W. While this may not sound much it is absolutely sufficient to power most of today's systems. The PSU has a very high efficiency of over 83% which allows the fan to run slower because there is not so much excess heat to get rid of. In our fan noise testing this extremely silent unit leads by a large margin over all other PSUs tested so far.
