Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Casio Exilim EX-Z1200

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 is a technological marvel, a pocket-sized compact camera packed with advanced features and useful creative options. It has superior build quality, good handling and class-leading performance, and decent image quality. The only real question is whether you feel it's worth paying a significant premium for a trivial increase in image resolution.

LG BH100 HD Combi player Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the LG BH100 HD Combi player

We guess it's possible to see a small ray of hope in the BH100. After all, it certainly proves that a combi player can deliver good quality video playback from both next-gen formats.

However, that ray of hope applies to future products only. For as it stands the BH100 feels like a merely half-finished affair that compromises the full potential of both HD formats to far greater a degree than we're willing to accept.

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W PSUs Review
bit-tech published a review of PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W PSUs

PC Power & Cooling products are like a racing cars - it's raw and on the edge - it feels like its been made by proper engineers with pens and metal rulers in their pockets and a calender featuring pictures of power transformers, rather than designers behind Macs with glass desks drinking Grande Starbucks. The attention to detail is on the inside, and the outside is only half way there.

For 99 percent of you reading this it should be virtually silent until you keep it a few years and PCs get more and more power hungry. The only real stress is the lack of modularity which I know will be a sticking point to many people, but to be honest, I can live with a ton of cables because after using it I know I'd have a heavy hitting product with balls the size of watermelons - it's overclockable even more than the box itself says it's capable of!

Netgear RangeMax NEXT 802.11n Review
3D Game Man posted a review on the Netgear RangeMax NEXT 802.11n

The 802.11n series of wireless products trumps the 802.11g standards. I was able to run a SpeedTest.net benchmark at 300 feet from the location of the router. I must add that the location was in a residential area inundated with wireless routers and a cellular tower (about six blocks away). The location of the router was located 25' within the home on the first floor. This being the case, we started with the laptop on the front steps of the home (25' from the router). Next, we went to the sidewalk (another ~25'). After the sidewalk, we crossed the street and stood in front of the first home (~150' from router). We then continued to the third house (another 150') to which continuing past this third house resulted in a lost or unreliable connection. From installation to extended range of use, the 802.11n standard has shown itself as worthy of the industry's adoption.

Asus Blitz Extreme motherboard Review
Neoseeker has published a review of the Asus Blitz Extreme P35 motherboard.

The Asus Blitz Extreme is quite worth its $290 to $300 dollar U.S. selling price. It could make a pretty good single GPU gaming rig and a more than decent office/productivity machine. More PCI-e lanes would have been nice, but Asus did do something quite unique with Crosslink...

Corsair Flash Padlock 2GB USB Drive Review
OCModShop posted Corsair Flash Padlock 2GB USB Drive Review

Some USB drives use various methods to secure the precious data on the memory stick, but these software methods only logically lock the drive or encrypt its contents. One of the problems with a software method is that the protection can be circumvented by using another OS or running a password-checking program.

Corsair has delivered an answer to this problem with their Padlock line of USB flash drives. These drives use a physical numeric keypad, combined with a hardware mechanism to lock or unlock the drive before use. Once locked, no computer will be able to use it, regardless of the platform. The hardware protects the drive at its lowest level, so not even a drive letter is mapped.

Intel's Stoakley platform and 45nm Xeons
The Tech Report published an article on Intel's Stoakley platform and 45nm Xeons

When AMD's "Barcelona" Opterons made their debut last Monday, we couldn't tell you about a sleek, black box nestled in among the other test systems in Damage Labs. Housed inside of it: an example of Intel's brand-new "Stoakley" dual-processor platform, complete with a pair of Xeons based on 45nm process technology. These Xeons are the first members of the Penryn family of 45nm CPUs to reach our test labs, and they offer a tantalizing look at how Intel will counter AMD's new CPU design with a substantially revised version of its own potent Core microarchitecture.

These new CPUs and the platform that supports them promise marked improvements in performance, thanks to a bevy of tweaks and updates. In fact, although the new Xeons are more a minor refresh than a major overhaul, the gains they've attained are formidable. Today, we can show you how these processors perform.

The contest between next-generation CPU architectures has begun in earnest. Read on to see how Intel's 45nm Xeons match up with AMD's quad-core Opterons.

Coollaboratory Liquid Pro Reviewed
BurnOutPC.com has just posted a review of some Coollaboratory Liquid Pro.

Our last product that had anything to do with heat conductivity was the Liquid Metal pads we reviewed from Coollaboratory. A super thin piece of heat conduction pad made from metal. Which indeed worked marginally better than some Arctic Silver 5, but wasn't as user friendly. The Liquid Metal pads are new, but Coollaboratory first came out a long time ago with their Liquid Pro. Liquid metal in a little syringe that should work as good, or even better than thermal paste. Let's see if this works just as good as the Liquid Metal pads.

IDF Fall 2007: PCI Express 3.0, Intel's new Interconnect and Skulltrail
PC Perspective has published an article from IDF that looks at PCI Express 3.0, Intel's new CPU interconnect to rival HyperTransport and of course, the dual-processor Skulltrail gaming beast.

The system features dual 3.0 GHz Yorkfield processors on the Xeon-based Stoakley motherboard platform. This of course means it is using FB-DIMMs which is a bit of a letdown, but we can deal with it for the performance the system is able to get. The CPUs are liquid cooled; a setup that Intel claims will be standard for all Skulltrail systems.

iStar S-9 Storm Series 4 Bay Hot-swappable Storage Server ATX Case Review
DragonSteelMods posted a review on the iStar S-9 Storm Series 4 Bay Hot-swappable Storage Server ATX Case

Last week I took a look at a mobile rack from iStarUSA and found it to be an excellent quality product overall, today I've got another iStar product and I found it to be just as good. Today for review I have a PC Case that features a built-in 4 bay hot-swappable mobile rack system that makes adding storage and transferring large amounts of data around very easy. The 4 bay hot swap rack features built-in cooling as well, and the entire setup can be used for either in a server situation or the basis for a killer workstation or even gaming rig.

Logitech Quick Cam Pro for Notebooks Review
OCC has published a new review of the Logitech Quick Cam Pro for Notebooks

Not wanting to only compare the QuickCam Pro to itself, I also fired up the iSight on my Mac. Although there was no software installed, the Mac picked up that there was a camera and set it to be used as the default inside of Photo Booth. I took image captures at the default settings since I was unable to alter the settings on the Mac. As can be seen, the image quality of the QuickCam Pro is a lot better. Colors are more vibrant and video is smoother. This lays waste to the built-in competition without looking back. The first one is the QuickCam and the second is the iSight. The flash from the Mac's software hurt the image quality a little on both pictures, but they are still pretty good representatives of the type of quality you would get out of them.

GMC R-2 Toast PC Case Review
ThinkComputers.org posted GMC R-2 Toast PC Case Review

The GMC R-2 Toast PC case has very original (and patented!) concept for optical drive placement and loading. Instead of the traditional horizontally-positioned, tongue-like tray extension, the Toast, as its name implies, orients the drive vertically so that the optical drive tray shoots up like a piece of toast. The hard drive is also mounted vertically, so the case is very slim. Read on as ThinkComputers sees what pops up with the Toast.
