HIS Radeon HD 5850 1GB Video Card Review
TweakTown posted a review on the HIS Radeon HD 5850 1GB Video Card

With word really beginning to get around that the new GT 300 based NVIDIA cards aren't going to be seen this year, it really gives AMD a chance to cement its HD 5000 series cards into the market. The latest HD 5000 series card to make its way into our labs is the HD 5850 and comes from HIS.

We've already had a look at the model before and we've been pretty happy with what ATI has done with the card. Today we'll be seeing what HIS have done to the bundle and card to see if there's anything that stands out from other models.

Athlon II X3 435 Triple Core Processor Review
TechwareLabs has published a review of the Athlon II X3 435 Triple Core Processor

With the ongoing buzz of people worrying about the economy and their own funds, the term "low budget" is becoming used far more often. Today, we are going to be looking at AMD's Athlon II X3 435 processor. The Athlon II X3 435 has 1.5MBs of L2 Cache per core and is a 95W (45nm) processor. It supports all the same features found in the rest of the Athlon II processors (X2, X3 and X4 alike). However, AMD's larger aim is based on it's price point. With a amazing sub $90 price there should be no reason not to take a second look at the new Athlon II CPUs, especially if you are on a budget.

ASRock M3A785GXH/128M Motherboard Review
Legit Reviews posted a review on the ASRock M3A785GXH/128M Motherboard

Earlier this year ASRock surprised us with their M3A780GXH/128M motherboard. Today, we look at that boards successor, the ASRock M3A785GXH/128M motherboard. The new board features an integrated Radeon HD 4200 with 128mb of DDR3 onboard. Is it enough to run FarCry 2? Hit the link to find out.

The ASRock M3A785GXH128M uses a 4+1 Phase power design. While this might be a red flag for some, we were able to overclock a 140W Phenom II X4 965 to a vCore of 1.55v with just a simple 80mm fan blowing across the MOSFETs. With a BIOS made for overclocking and AMD's awesome OverDrive at our disposal we were able to squeeze an extra 500mhz out of our Phenom II X4 965 Black edition Processor. Even with bare MOSFETS we had no trouble cranking up the voltage to 1.52v. and were able to reach 3.9GHz!

Toshiba Satellite T135 Win 7 CULV Notebook Review
HotHardware.com posted a review on the Toshiba Satellite T135 Win 7 CULV Notebook

We're seeing more and more CULV notebooks hit the market these days. The growing sector of Consumer Ultra Low Voltage machines attempts to bridge the gap between lower cost netbooks and full-size notebooks, offering a more powerful chip than the ubiquitous Atom options we see in netbooks, but one that consumes less power than the mainstream Core 2 Duo processors we see in many full-size notebooks.

The Toshiba Satellite T100 Series fits in the CULV segment and attempts to offer the comfort and convenience of a standard laptop in an ultra-thin package. As the larger model in the T100 series, the T135 we look at ths in article features Windows 7, a 13.3-inch widescreen display and measures only 1.35 inches at its thickest point...

Laptop users are increasingly using external hard drives to tote around their digital lives. Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2/4G Memory Review
OCC has published a review on the Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2/4G Memory

The Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2/4G kit of memory impressed me with its performance and quality, but one issue I did run into was stability. I had to set the voltage to the maximum required setting of 1.9v at all times to run them at the listed stock timings of 9-9-9-27. I manually set the voltage at 1.7v when I first installed the memory and raised the voltage slowly until stability was achieved. However, before the 1.9v mark, my computer would crash during any program that stressed the system, such as gaming or benchmarking. I assume that some kits can run stable below 1.9v, but the set I received could not. With the voltage aside, the HyperX kit ended up on par with or ahead of both the Corsair and OCZ kits in most of the benchmarks and was also able to average a few more frames per second in Left 4 Dead across most resolutions.

It doesn't require a music-prodigy to appreciate good music on a nice set of speakers. But how can the average Joe distinguish a nice set of speakers from manufactured junk? Does the presence of a subwoofer, multiple speakers or a list of features guarantee a set will be high quality? Or can you be assured good performance by sticking to name-brands? At Benchmark Reviews we reviewed the Eagle Arion ET-AR504LR-BK 2.1 Soundstage Speakers using some objective, repeatable tests. These tests helped screen the important factors from the insignificant.
