Black Friday Review of the Thermalright T-Rad 2
Bjorn3D takes a look at the Thermalright T-Rad 2

With GPU's getting hotter and hotter, it is starting to be impossible to overclock a graphics card with a stock heat sink. This is where Thermalright comes in. They have designed what looks to be an amazing cooler. With the ability to have two 92mm fans or one large 120mm fan, it should cool much better than any stock heat sink.

The problem is what is a good heat sink without a good graphics card? You can't enjoy a great game without having a GPU that has the power to display all of the eye candy. With a better cooler you can crank up the GPU clocks, alowing you to acheive more frames, and thus smoother gameplay. That is why Thermalright has made the T-Rad 2 able to run on a majority of the current high end GPU's.

It would be a smart thing to invest in one of these coolers to gain more game performance at a low price. And with your card running cooler, its life span will improve by a fair margin. This will help lower the chances of needing to RMA a dead card, so you won't have to miss playing any of your favorite games. With this cooler, your card will last longer, which will allow you to hold off that upgrade until your card struggles to play new games.

Sony Ericsson W760i Walkman Cell phone Review
TestFreaks.com posted a review on the Sony Ericsson W760i Walkman Cell phone

Today I've got the Sony Ericsson W760i Walkman Cell Phone and it's just packed with features, it's so much more than a phone really. The W760i is near perfect really, in my time with it I grew to like it very much, honestly I didn't want to give it back, but I had to, that's just how it works. I think if the W760i had a full keyboard it would be the perfect phone for me really, it has everything I like in a phone, excellent call quality, GPS, it's easy to use and it's just packed with features.

Sapphire HD 4830 Graphics Card Review
Modders-Inc.com posted a review on the Sapphire HD 4830 Graphics Card

I have to say that the card performed above my expectations. I played Call of Duty 4 for roughly 3 hours straight and the card maintained a good frame rate throughout each map. I estimate my frames to average out between the mid 90s to the mid 130s, sometimes hitting a lot higher depending on the location in the map of course.

KeyScan KS810 Keyboard-Scanner Review
Hardware Secrets posted a review on the KeyScan KS810 Keyboard-Scanner

Convergence is the cornerstone of modern technology. We have monitors with integrated webcams, cellphones that function as PDAs and digital cameras, and biometric mice. Following that lead, the Canadian company KeyScan is releasing the KS810, a keyboard with an integrated scanner. Since is a sheet-feed scanner (just like a fax machine) it isn't suited for digitalizing books or magazines; the KS810 only scans loose sheet, photos, flyers, business cards etc. If that meets the user's necessities then the hybrid can solve problems like lacking table space for a regular scanner. Let's examine the KS810 and its installation process and then check out its scanning capabilities.

Empire: Total War hands-on preview
bit-tech published a hands-on preview of Empire: Total War

In Empire, the power of gunpowder means that almost every effective unit is a ranged one. Fields of fire need to be considered, cover should be hid behind, and buildings can even be garrisoned and fired from. And while bayonets may have been standard issue for most soldiers, committing troops to melee combat isn't a decision to take lightly as it'll bog troops down.

The developer, Creative Assembly, promises that the Grand Campaign victory conditions for Empire will be tighter and more relevant to the faction you're playing. This will be especially true of the smaller factions which will have more manageable goals than having to conquer half of the known world as was the case in so many previous Total War games.

For a more narrative campaign, there's the new Road to Independence mode, which chronicles the founding of the British colony in Jamestown through to the French-Indian war and finally the American War of Independence.

CA wouldn't say much about this beyond it not being a cynical inclusion to boost US sales, but the campaign will 'introduce newcomers to the series to the incredible size of the Total War experience, as well as give Total War veterans a new way to experience the game.' Yep, it sounds like an extended tutorial mission to us too.

The developer has also introduced the notion of a Prestige win, where a faction wins because it's just too awesome for any other to compete, much like the mechanism in Civ. CA has also teamed up with Valve to distribute Empire via Steam as well in the shops. This has the knock-on bonus of letting Steam handle multiplayer matches - a much better system than Total War games had previously - while freeing up CA's time to actually develop the game.
