Warp2Search send words that Microsoft has released a public beta of DirectPlay 8.1

Now this is interesting...Digging in the GameVoice 1.5 page I discovered it! Here`s the original MS scoop:

To download the DirectPlay 8.1 public beta:

1. Go to www.betaplace.com
2. In the Beta ID field, type "DirectX81".
3. For the password, type "DirectPlay".
4. Follow the instructions for proceeding to the DirectX 8.1 download area and follow the instructions for downloading the DirectPlay 8.1 public beta.

Note:
Once installed, the DirectPlay 8.1 Beta software may not be removed.
This Beta expires on Jan 15, 2002. You will be required to upgrade to the full retail version of DirectX 8.1.
