AMD Ryzen R7 1700 AM4 8-Core Processor Review

Ryzen has been on the market for a little over a week now, and it's already off to an impressive start. While there have been some bugs with memory performance, some of which that are still to be fixed at the time of writing, we've seen that these issues have done little to slow down the gaming performance of the Ryzen hardware, as tested in our GTX 1080 Ti feature
. We've already put the Ryzen R7 1800X through its paces, and today we're taking a look at the bottom of the R7 range, the R7 1700.

Battlefield 1 DirectX 11 & 12 Performance Analysis

The Battlefield franchise has a rich heritage on the PC platform and pushed the visual boundaries further with each release. DICE's commitment to creating the most realistic cinematic audio and astounding lighting effects never ceases to amaze. Over the years, the Battlefield games have embraced destructible environments and a chaotic multiplayer experience. The latest entry is based on the First World War and aims to bring trench warfare to life. Traditionally, developers shied away from this historical period because attritional warfare wasn't particularly exciting and difficult to emulate in a video game. Despite this, DICE forged ahead and ensured Battlefield 1 was a relatively accurate historical portrayal without impacting on the overall fun factor. As expected, the game received widespread critical acclaim and is commonly perceived as a modern classic.

EpicGear Morpha X Modular Gaming Mouse Review

With the wide range of gaming peripherals on the market it can be difficult to find the product that is right for you and how you want to work. For instance gaming keyboards are often defined by their keyswitch and classified by features. Mice are a little different in that there is no clear defining feature. Some users buy them based on the sensor used while others find the shape to be the most important. For me it is a draw between shape and weight, I loathe lightweight mice and prefer a more contoured feel given my tendency to do the finger squeeze over claw and palm grips.

What if you could tweak and tune your mouse to fit your style instead of the other way around? In this review I’ll be looking at the Morpha X Modular Gaming Mouse from EpicGear. In the same spirit of the EpicGear Defiant keyboard the Morpha X features a modular design allowing you to modify the mouse to fit your particular style.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands Review - PC Gameplay And Performance

Ghost Recon: Wildands takes gamers back to squad-based tactical shooter country, albeit this time we’re dropping in hot, to cartel-controlled Bolivia. Our mission is to gather intel to systematically take down each cartel leader until the head of the snake is dispatched.

Ditching the futuristic theme of the previous Ghost Recon installment, Wildlands is firmly set in the present and brings a new, completely open-world setting to the franchise, in what Ubisoft is calling "one of the biggest games it has ever published."

That’s a promise we can attest to. It’s also one of the most immersive and visually stunning games the company has made with the widest variety of richly detailed locations and environments for players to test their skills in...

High static pressure case fans test: the best 120mm and 140mm fans for your radiator or CPU cooler

Many manufacturers of case fans offer separate fans with high static pressure. These fans are capable of easily pushing air through small openings, which makes them ideal for CPU cooler or water cooling radiators. But what are the best options?

There are roughly two ways to measure the performance of case fans. Firstly, you can measure the amount of airflow produced by the fan, in other words the amount of air moved by the fan. The amount of static pressure represents the force that pushes the air. A case fan that is capable of pushing large amounts of air, without actually pushing the air through a radiator, is less useful for such a purpose. A consequence of high static pressure is that the produced air stream tends to be more targeted, which is why there is a difference between 'airflow' fans with a wide air stream through your case and 'static pressure' fans that can be used for radiators of CPU coolers.

Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum

So I recently had the chance to check out the G533 wireless headset from Logitech and I was impressed with its performance. While testing it, I have also been checking out Logitech’s newest wireless gaming mouse, the G900 Chaos Spectrum. While some people may prefer to stay wired for performance reasons, the gap between wired and wireless is getting smaller. With that, there are a lot more people looking at wireless devices for the added convenience. For me, I’ve been using wireless headsets for my Coms for a while now just because it is easier than getting tangled in the cord. The G900 has a great optical sensor and it shares a lot of features with Logitech’s mice so I’m excited to put it to the test today and see what it is all about.

PNY CS2030 240GB PCIe NVMe M.2 drive Review

Many people missed the release of the new PNY CS2030. PNY seemed almost to avoid marketing the drive with tech media which is surprising considering it is their first consumer PCIe NVMe M.2 drive. We find out today how it handles and if it is worth considering for a new system build.
