8 34- & 35-inch wfhd-monitoren review: widescreen gaming

f you want a truly immersive experience in racing games or flight sims, a wide full hd super-wide monitor might be something worth considering. While it might be a small market segment, this does not prevent us from covering it. We tested eight of these big boys, including LG's brand new 34UM69G-B.

Nowadays if you are looking for a monitor you have more options than ever before. 'Wide full hd' models are still a part of this. The first of these 21:9 monitors with a resolution of 2560x1080 pixels reached our test lab near the end of 2012, followed by a lot more the year after. These 29-inch models formed a remarkable development in a market that was characterized by monitors with the same (full hd) resolution and aspect ratio, where you could only choose between different sizes.

Acer Predator Helios 300 Review: GTX 1060 Gaming Laptop for About $1,000

On the surface, the Acer Predator Helios 300 isn’t a head-turning gaming laptop. It’s a 15-inch system with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor and GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, which is a baseline platform for many portable gaming machines. But what piqued my interest was the price: the Helios is basically the cheapest gaming laptop with these specs on the market, at $1,049 on Amazon, and user reviews have been largely positive.
With this in mind, I wanted to get some hands on time with this gaming laptop to see where Acer has cut corners and whether the laptop is actually worth your cash. After all, whenever a laptop strives to be the most affordable in any category, sacrifices are often made to get there.

Google Home Mini review: An affordable home assistant that needs work

It has been a few weeks since giving some initial impressions of the Google Home Mini. Since then, more time has been spent living with it, giving it commands, and assimilating into my daily life. The experience is quite interesting, in that, this is the first smart speaker I have ever used or owned. While this might seem like a huge statement, it really isn't. If you're the owner of a smartphone, chances are you already use a digital assistant like Apple's Siri or the Google Assistant, and effectively, the speaker is a product that houses a digital assistant and can work independently of your handset.

I can honestly say, that in my normal daily use, on a handset, I rarely request help from the assistant and just look up what I'm looking for using search. In my opinion, this is much faster and can be more accurate. But, this only works when you have your hands free and can punch in the query. What happens if you're on the road driving or in the kitchen kneading out dough for cookies - this is when a voice-activated assistant can come in handy. This shows that there is a place for this kind of technology and it can co-exist with the more traditional means of searching or activating apps. But can Google's $49 Home Mini smart speaker be useful enough to make it a worthwhile purchase? Let's find out.

MSI X299 SLI Plus Motherboard Review

Intel’s X299 platform is an appealing choice to consumers requiring high core count CPUs and plentiful system memory. Samsung Gear Sport review: A versatile fitness-first smartwatch

As the holiday season approaches and New Year's and its inevitable fitness-related resolutions draw near, wearables makers are scrambling. Major brands like Apple and Samsung have realized that smartwatches need to at least be good activity trackers for users to keep wearing them. Samsung decided that "good activity tracker" wasn't enough, though, and built a device around exercise that also packs a slew of smartwatch features. The Gear Sport does so much that it's one of the most versatile health-centric smartwatches in this price range.
