VIA HArdware has put up a review on the first of many Intel i845 DDR motherboards.



The CPU area is P4 standard and is located at the top of the motherboard. Mounting a heatsink on the board is simple and we encountered no problems with components on the board getting in the way of an installation. The Northbridge (or ICH) (pictured below) has a large heatsink + fan mount on it—easily one of the largest I’ve seen on a shipping motherboard. Whether this is a part which is getting particularly hot, or MSI is simply demonstrating a commitment to using quality parts, its an impressive-looking heatsink for the Northbridge of a motherboard.
