This first beta of the Microsoft® .NET Framework includes everything you need to write, build, and test .NET applications: ASP.NET, the Common Language Runtime, documentation, samples, tools, and command line compilers.

This beta software should only be installed on non-production test machines. The SDK will run on Windows® 2000 and Windows NT® 4.0 (including the NTOP for ASP.NET support), Windows 98, or Windows ME. Internet Explorer 5.5 and Data Access Components 2.6 are required.

Attention SQL 2000 users: Installing the SDK samples can, in some circumstances, overwrite the Pubs and Northwind sample databases that are installed with SQL Server. For more information about this problem (including a workaround), please read the Late-Breaking Known Issues before installing the SDK samples.
