Another option in the DVD Setup menu worth looking at is something called Dynamic Compression. What it does it is constrains the dynamic range difference between the quietest and loudest passages of a DVD sound track. Basically it makes loud noises quieter and quieter noises louder. This is good if you are trying to watch a movie and someone in another room is trying to sleep. This way you won't have to keep turning it down when things are exploding and turning it back up when people are whispering.
