The Windows 8 Beta blog reports that there has been rumors that Windows 8 build 7971 would leak soon.

We have already reported that Windows 8 build 7996 has been compiled with build string as 6.2.7996.0.winmain.110429-1810 and hopefully the build list has gone past 8000 and Microsoft has started working on the Windows 8 beta stage.
