Sudhian Media posted an editorial on Windows x64

It was a seamless transition. Everything worked as before except with the benefits of greater memory addressing—though Windows XP Professional x64 consumes a bit more memory than its 32-bit counterpart. Nonetheless with 4GB of memory it doesn’t bother me too much. The system has been rock solid with no crashes at all and everything worked as it does in Windows XP Professional 32-bit.
Windows XP Professional x64, is it ready for mainstream?
