Starts fine but then crashes after about a minute of gameplay. The patch that's suppost to fix this for XP doesn't seem to work on vista

If having problems with sound then Adjust the sound acceleration
To adjust sound acceleration in Windows:
Β· Click Start->Run.
Β· In the box type DXDIAG. Click OK. This will bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
Β· When the tool finishes loading, click the Sound tab at the top of the window.
Β· Under DirectX Features you will see a slider bar labelled Hardware Sound Acceleration Level. Click on this slider and drag it to the left to decrease and right to increase.
* Click Exit.
Now try running the game. If your problem persists repeat the steps, adjusting the slider one notch at a time. Test the game at each setting.
