Received the follow messages: 1) Playing version 1.0 on Windows 2000, it works great. Speed is wonderful and it hasn't crashed once. 2) Works fine. 3) it doesn't work at all on my system. Dual Celeron 450, 256MB PC100 Ram, TNT Viper550, Voodoo 2 12MB SLI 4) Runs ok, but sound and music stutter like crazy. PIII 700, Sound Blaster Live with Liveware 3.0 and GeForce DDR 5) Runs in Win 2K on Geforce only at 640x480x16, crashes in any other resolution. 6) you'll need to get the nvidia 5.13 drivers for correct DX-7 D3D support for your nvidia card in order to play this correctly, otherwise you're stuck at the 16 colors 7) Crashes in Win98, works at any resolution/color in Win2K  [P3-504, 256RAM, GeForceDDR, 5.13 detonators] Do not push "ESC"! Awesome game. 8) It works fine on an ATI Rage 128 (with the latest Win2K drivers from www.ati.com). 9) Runs using Win2k w/ Voodoo 3 2000 PCI :)

If run as XP native sound is trashed (SB A2 ZS, acceleration on or off), if run in W98 mode game speed crawls and cutscenes play at 1 fps.

Installed and worked perfectly on my laptop with XP. Seems that some video card/sound card combos are not subject to slowdown/glitch problems.

I've played this game on 4 separate computers, using both win 98 and XP and sometimes it runs, sometimes it doesn't. The voice and effects sounds are almost always screwed (I've tried several different sound cards, most recently a sound blaster live 5.1), but the music generally works. The graphics worked ok on a geforce 4 mx 440, but they're completely screwed on my geforce 8600 GT. Even with the graphics on minimum settings it's unplayable. Cross your fingers depending on your hardware - best of luck trying to get it to work, even with the newest patch.

Hello

I want to play star trek armada recently, and I have problems. I think is solved it

So I try everything what you write, this is not a hyperthreading issue.I try to change compatibility mode, but didnot work also. When I trying things, once time it worked,I dont know why because later the problem comes up again. So i tried to reconstruct the parameters ,when it worked, and i wondered. When I opened an internet explorer window, minimized it and run the game it works normally. I tried 4 times again to be sure. I dont know how it possible, but it works. When I close the window it wrong again.I hope it dont depend on other parapeters, but i run it windows nt compatibility mode.

for the soundproblem: run dxdiag from startmenu/run and try to change hardware acceleration opinion. It works on basic acceleration.

Armada is one of my favorite games so I've tried to get it to run on my machines.

First, if you're running Windows 98/Me, the game works great.

Under XP, it works fine with garbled voice sounds.

Here's the problem - ARMADA doesn't like DirectX 9

I've tested the game under XP with and without DX9 and it freezes with bad pixels under DX9.

My suggestion is to uninstall DX9 or buy a video card that supports DX 8 and under.

Recommendations - Radeon 9000 or Geforce 2 Series cards.

I get an error concerning Data Execution Prevention with this game. I was not able to work around it, regardless of computability setting.

I got a debugger, and from what I can tell, it seems to crash in the sprintf() function.

Hi everybody,

I am working with Windows 7 RC 64bit and have only a minor problem with Armada. If there are more than about 4-5 vessels on screen or a vessel explodes, the perfromance drops severely. But I can still ok work with it ;)

System config: AMD Phenom Quad Core, 6 GByte RAM, 2xnVidia 8600GT SLI.

EXE config: Windows XP SP compatibility mode; disable Visual Design, Desktop Theme and Scaling of high DPI; Run as Administrator

Game: Patch 1.2, res 1600x1200 32bit

Hi everybody again,

I am the one with Windows 7 RC 64bit. I have now reduced the resolution from 1600x1200 32bit to 16bit. And not even the fights with 3 fleets against several vessels do not influence the performance anymore ;)

Regards to all the classic Armada fans :)

I have Windows 7 and it installs fine and loads up fine, but as soon as the loading screen appears to load the game, the background just starts flickering for about 60 seconds before the game returns to desktop. Any ideas how I can resolve this?

Tried playing in XP mode and I get the same thing and when I try the Virtual XP, the game doesn't load at all after you double click the EXE. :( any ideas on how to resolve for those that can get this to work on Windows 7?

Tja, now I got the final version of Windows 7 via my companies VL. And it turned out, that the final version does not support the Windows XP compatibily mode anymore (only with SP2 and 3). But I do not give up ;)

By the way, who has not guessed, I am the one with the Quad Core proc and the Win7_RC_64bit.

Regards

For anyone having a really slow frame rate issue, set your monitor to 60 hz refresh rate. That took care of my issues for video, now just working on my sound stuttering that I never had before this.

Game works fine for me on Windows 7, though I have to turn the resolution from 32-16 bit, and it lags whenever there is an explosion. One major problem is the mouse lag. Only the mouse display is lagged however, like the display cannot keep up with my mouse movements. I can still click on stuff, just the mouse display takes a bit to get to where I'm pointing at.

Ive played Armada on virtually all OS's. If your graphics are "on acid", simply hit the pause key asap and either alt-tab or windows key to desktop and back to game and game will be clear and playable. ONLINE PLAY OF STAR TRAK ARMADA 1 can be done easily thru Gameranger. But...game has always had an issue when playing someone with a differant OS.....game WILL go Out Of Sync unless all players are on the same OS. I strongly urge all Armada lovers to try online play at Gameranger
