Among the second tier mainboard manufacturers, AOpen is an interesting example for a multi-tiered company that, amongst other things produces mainboards but is stratified into all different levels of home and business computing. Enclosures, optical drives, server chassis are just a few items of the AOpen product line. Like everybody else, in the past years, AOpen have had their ups and downs and maybe even more downs than some of the competitors leading to the fact that it has been very quiet around them. Better quiet, though, than sharing the fate of a few others that completely fell off the face of the earth and it is not just CaliforniaGraphics that we are alluding to.
