Corsair Dominator Platinum CL10 2666 MHz 4x 4GB DDR3 Review

techPowerUp posted a review on the Corsair Dominator Platinum CL10 2666 MHz 4x 4GB DDR3 memory

When it comes to memory, you've got many options, from cheap green sticks to high-end, ultra-overclocking modules including lights and other features. Corsair has long been a supplier of those high-end modules, complete with LED text displays, and EQ-like parametric displays that show different functional readings at the same time. Not to be outdone by others that have released new modules, Corsair has their own new high-end modules, and this time it's not just some Dominator GT module, but a whole new product called Dominator Platinum.

We've seen pictures and launch press releases, and they've just hit store shelves recently. The Dominator Platinum modules are the ultra-high-end modules from Corsair that truly offer more than your traditional memory modules, including a cool LED glow and Corsair Link functionality. Ranging in speeds from 1600 MHz to 2666 MHz and available in capacities of 8 GB to 64 GB, the Corsair Platinum modules also feature a new look. Gone are the red, blue, green, or black fins at the top, and new is the silver light-bar which features a soft white glow in stock form with additional colors to be launched soon as separate purchases.

I'll just tell you right now, I've been a Corsair fan for years, but that's because they've proven themselves in providing exactly what I've asked for, although they sometimes make you pay for it. Today, we've got the high-end Dominator Platinum 2666 Mhz 16 GB kit, and let me say, it's fairly pricey. Does it follow Corsair's old tradition of delivering for a hefty price? Let's take a look.
