Crucial DDR2 PC2-5300 Ltd edition 2 gig kit Review

XtremeComputing put up a Crucial DDR2 PC2-5300 Ltd edition 2 gig kit review

We don't really like loosening the timings here at Xtreme due to the fact that there are higher speed looser timing modules that are within budget of the lower speed lower latency kits, so the only other thing we could do was go backwards. This resulted in some pretty interesting results as the ram was able to run at 667 at 2.3v with timings of 3, 4, 4, 8 which was pretty impressive I thought until it hung after 4 hours of stress test, I loosened the Cas out a bit to compensate so the memory was running at 4, 4, 4, 8 but this did not prove so fruitful as a few checks on a couple of benchmarks proved it to be quite a bit worse than the ram at 667 with 3, 3, 3, 12.
