LeadTek WinFast GTX 285 Review
Bjorn3D takes a look at the LeadTek WinFast GTX 285

A new year can be exciting. It's a time for renewal, and resolutions, and even some times it's a time a new president. But this new year, it was also a time for gamers. At the Consumer Electronics Show this past January in Las Vegas, Nevada, a new video card was debuted, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 285. Built upon the GTX 200 series architecture, the GTX sports a smaller die process (shrunken from 65nm to 55nm) that lowers power consumption and lowers heat, but packs more performance than its predecessors. And though the GTX 285 is the younger sibling to the GTX 280 that was previously Nvidia's top-of-line offering, the new GTX 285 is now definitely its big brother.

The GTX 280 has a little brother, in the GTX 260 with 216 stream processors, and LeadTek offered an overclocked version of that video card in the WinFast GTX 260 Extreme+. And though while technically not as fast as its big brother the GTX 280, the factory overclocked GTX 260 Extreme+ posted some impressive numbers, especially if it was coaxed into providing some extra speed with a little extra overclocking. Today we have the LeadTek GTX 285 video card to test and we're going to see just what its capable of doing.

ATI RADEON HD 4830 Video Card Review
PCShopTalk posted a review on the ATI RADEON HD 4830 Video Card

For this test I have used the fan at 40% from Catalyst Control Center and I was impressed to see how cool this card stays at IDLE, considering that the fan is much smaller that a dual slot design. Also, at full load for 5 minutes, the card stabilized at the 73.5 degrees Celsius value, which is more than fine.

GeIL EVO Cyclone Memory Cooler Review
InsideHW.com has reviewed GeIL EVO Cyclone memory cooler

Memory manufacturer GeIL attracted a lot of attention with its RAM modules. This is consequence of very wide and well segmented product portfolio so anyone can find something interesting. If you are searching for top-class (priciest) or value (budget) modules, GeIL has a product for you. Faster modules need better cooling so most users that overclock their memory are mounting fan above memory modules to achieve lower operating temperatures. Those modules often come with mounted coolers (heatsinks) but in some (most) cases that is not enough so GeIL came up with elegant and functional product for users that need nice and functional active memory cooling solution.

Tuniq TR-1 Thermal Material Remover Review
DreamWare Computers posted a review on the Tuniq TR-1 Thermal Material Remover

System builders and enthusiasts are quite familiar with what thermal paste is and what it's purpose is also. This paste lies between any heatsink and chip and it purpose is to help conduct the heat away from the chip and over to the heatsink. The result of being exposed to high temperatures for long periods of time means that thermal paste isn't always the easiest thing to remove. Tuniq, a brother company to Sunbeam Tech., have recently released their TR-1; a thermal paste remover aimed at helping to take away all that scrubbing and work out of cleaning off the chips and heatsinks after separating them.

GELID Silent Spirit CPU Cooler Review
Overclockers Online has posted a new review on the GELID Silent Spirit CPU Cooler

With its four heatpipes and excellent design, the performance is great and it really is silent! I especially liked the fact that the base had fins of its own; this way, not everything is dependent on the heatpipes. Installation was extremely easy due to the push-pin type mounting technique. Also, the cooler's low weight and small size made it a pleasure to work with.
