We received quite a few e-mails regarding our evaluation of the Gigabyte 6800 card. Many users stated that Gigabyte's 6800 card only had eight pixel pipelines enabled, hence the reason for lower performance numbers. Unfortunately we were not aware of the situation at the time of testing and Gigabyte failed to mention anything about the new BIOS that fix this issue. After receiving concerned comments from our readers, we decided to investigate the situation and found our readers to be right on target. The card that we had evaluated was indeed operating with only eight pixel pipelines enabled. After that we quickly obtained the Gigabyte 6800 card, updated the BIOS, and re-ran our regular suite of tests. We have corrected some of our comments in the evaluation to match the updated performance numbers. At this time, we would sincerely like to apologize to everyone for the incorrect information that was portrayed in the review.
