Getting software CPU multiplier adjustment out of Asus´ A7A266 Socket A motherboard is easy enough. You just have to flash the 1004 BIOS, and then flick DIP switch number 10.

Except there is no DIP switch number 10, on any A7A with on-board audio.

The fix, thankfully, is rather easy. I´ve written a quick how-to on the subject (translation: readers will have to page down fewer than 1000 times), and talked about what kind of CPU you need, and mentioned what kind of CPU you _want_ if money is no object, and incidentally also showcased some stuff that´s totally useless for unlocking the multiplier on Socket A CPUs.
