Opteron 248 Review - Workstation Comparison

3DChips has posted an Opteron 248 review
two chipset manufacturers found their way into the 3DChips testing laboratory. The MSI K8T-Master2 is built upon VIA’s chipset, the Tyan K8W (S2885) comes with AMD’s chipset. Both passed through the validation process and are now placed on AMD’s list of preferred mainboards. After introducing the Opteron on the following pages tests will show its scores in a direct performance comparison with an Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz (socket 604) and an AMD AthlonMP 2800+.
Tested with 3ds max 6, Maya 5.0.1, SolidWorks 2004 etc.
