The craving for high-definition everything has become more and more prevalent. It's about time that Panasonic stepped into the market with a high definition DVD player. We have seen HD DVD players from Samsung, Toshiba, and NeuNeo but Panasonic has been very quiet in this domain; that is, until now. This year, the Bytesector team got a chance to see some of Panasonic's latest and greatest CE products at their 2005 Canadian showcase, and that's where we first stole a glimpse of a 1080i HD player resting on a marble pedestal with spotlights shimmering above it. “Could it be…?” we wondered, doe-eyed. Yes, it was true. Panasonic finally put out a 1080i HD DVD player and we just had to get our hands on it.
