Although I have no quantifying evidence for the response time (i.e. it was not physically measured), it was obvious that the response was far superior to that of my older NEC Multisync LCD1700V, which exhibits noticeable ghosting when playing games and even when scrolling text. For this reason alone the 172X can be considered a laudable upgrade for owners of older LCD panels.
