Thermaltake Active Cooling Kit Review

Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 11/08/2001 10:39 AM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]

Overclocked Cafe has put up a review on Thermaltake's active cooling kit.

Installation was a snap. But be very careful, the frag tape is extraordinarily sticky, and once put on, doesn't come off intact, so get it right the first time, the kit comes with just enough tape for 1 application. Once the heat spreaders are positioned and stuck in place using the frag tape, 2 spring clips are applied, the instructions show alternating the sides that the long base side of the clips on either side of the RAM, but I found it to be a bit more secure putting both long sides on the orange heat spreader, remember your results may be different and I think either method is pretty secure. Don't rely just on the frag tape, use the clips, they maintain pressure on the heatspreaders insuring even contact across all the individual chips.
