Enscape has checked out the Vantec Nexus Multi-function Panel
The multi-function panel has a Rheobus specifically designed to control the speed of your CPU fan. This means that you must have a fan plugged into the unit or you get the dreaded 'audible alarm'. The audible alarm is, designed to point out that your CPU fan has died, which I have to agree is a somewhat useful feature. As mentioned before the audible alarm is very loud, so if you're unluckily and a fan does actually die then you will definitely hear it.
