Sudhian Media has posted an article on VIA's New Chipsets: PT880, PT894, and 894 Pro.
If I had to pick one word to describe VIA's last eight years in the IT industry it would be "uneven." From 1997 to 2001 VIA steadily gained strength, thanks to a combination of strong internal execution and external forces that weakened Intel's competitive product offerings. After 2001, however, things took a dramatic turn for the worse. Lawsuits from Intel badly damaged VIA's market share in P4 chipsets, the appearance of the nForce and nForce2 chipsets struck at their AMD market, and repeated product delays sapped their competitive strength.
