What will DX10 bring us?

Hardspell posted an article on DirectX 10

Whenever graphics technology upgrading will give consumers a dilemma: choose cheaper products of the old generation, or slightly expensive new generation products? Consumer doubt is because they do not understand deeply to the new generation products innovation characteristics, and today, we will explain the terms of the technical level, the actual game screenshots appreciation and the game performance tests to demonstrate the new technologies and characteristics advantages of DX10.

Now the graphic cards updating speed is amazing, but Microsofts DirectX API further accelerated this. Looking back at history, the DirectX 9 API extension time is considered very long. It also experienced a DX9b and DX9c escalate, the addition of SM3.0 and HDR extend the life of DX9, too.

However, as more new characteristics joined in the technology trends toward increasingly clear, DX9 traditional structure has already got to bottleneck and unable to substantially improve the quality of the game or more superior performance, so DX10 emerged. DX10, not only strengthened from the character, also changed dramatically since DX7 started gradually built up increasingly sophisticated graphics structure and that can be said to be a milestone similar change in the development of graphic cards.

Faced with Microsofts DX10 API, the two main graphics manufacturers NVIDIA and ATI have come up with their own plans, from the present situation, NVIDIA product line in the layout is still a great advantage, because up to now, NVIDIA whole series of DX10 graphics have been listed, including the high-end and mid-level, low-end products have sales, high-end products even has issued more than six months.
