Improve sound performance in VPC 4.36

Is there any way to improve sound performance in VPC? I use it to play Worms and Worms Re-enforcements, but the sound breaks up into static and is often lagged. Other games that I play this way (Tombraider, Mech2 etc) are fine.

I have a computer with Win2k Pro on it. It's for home use so security isn't all that important. . . might not even connect to the internet with it. I'm going to set up a couple user accounts, both as Administrators.

I believe it is the processor. I looked at it and it looks as it was overheated because of the material that was used in place of thermal paste. Symtoms: As soon as the power switch on the PS is turned on the system boots without pushing the button on the front of the case.

I'm confused as to what the idle process does. I was under the assumption that the idle process issues a HLT (halt) instruction when the CPU was no longer needed by another process. Then the idle process fired up the CPU again when another process needed it.

Well, I just formatted my system and set everything up. . here's my current rig AthlonXP 2100 Asrock K7VM2 Geforce2MX AGP + Voodoo3 PCI 60gb maxtor (partitioned in 5gb + 55gb = both NTFS) 256 DDR WinXP Pro SP1 And now that I'm trying to install my usb stuff, I'm having a few problems.

Is it possible to add drivers to the Win2k boot disks? Is it possible to even add disks? Mostly it would just be nice to add promise chipset support so I don't have to do that annoying F6, and track down the proper driver disk.

I'm trying to setup KaZaA to run under XP with Task Schedualer. Since I don't have a password for my account (I'm the only one using this PC anyway) I had to setup a separate account for the thing to run.

Used norton ghost couple of weeks ago great backup c:drive. Last night try to backup c:drive with ghost it comes up with c:drive write protected error! Can any one help cheers. .

i have had 2k installed for quite some time now and have gone through several motherboards, videocards, soundcards etc there is a crapload of old drivers that are still in my windows dir and some even still load but wont work.

Hi, I accidentally turned the Nvidia SoundStorm system tray icon off, and I can't get it to turn back on. Does anyone know how to do this? I can't seem to find anywhere where there is an option to turn it back on.

Win2000 Adv Server File Copy slow

When I copy large files from 1 win2k adv server to another, available memory drops to about 10MB free on both. Most files are about 1GB each. It takes about 15-20 minutes to copy these from 1 server to another.

I'm desperatly looking to get a better resolution (VGA driver=800x600). I got an Nvidia Geforce4 Go 4200 64Mb with an 8500 Inspiron. I now have to use Windows NT 4. . . I tried few drivers from here and there, but all gave me the blue screen.
